A life of faith without love is like sunlight without warmth - the type of light that occurs in winter, when nothing grows and everything droops and dies.

I came across this comment recently.

Made total sense to me, considering the struggle I’ve had over a number of years regarding religion in general.

What do you think?

Personally, I strongly dislike the word or concept of, "faith". I see faith as intellectual blinders.

Love is a demonstration of faith.
Faith reminds us that love is worth its risk.
One naturally leads towards the other.

I would say that love expressed by an individual simply speaks to that individuals state of mind, and such love may or may not be reciprocated. Having it reciprocated from time to time is what informs us that it is worth the risk, in my opinion.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Love has the same qualities as hate. Same exact coin.

Both are essentially fires that can be controlled or raging out of control, spilling out at all sides.

Reminds me of

“Seven deadly sins

Wealth without work, Pleasure without conscience, Science without humanity, Knowledge without character, Politics without principle, Commerce without morality, Worship without sacrifice.”

– Mahatma Gandhi

We either are really in or we are not. The show must go on does not fill a spiritual void

Sometimes it’s the intellect which blinds us, to those things which can only be apprehended with the spirit and experienced in the heart.

Dislike is not intellectual. As for "see" that is understanding and not observation. That understanding is not objective and without evidence.

Regarding 'religion in general' it seems to me the emphasis is often on who to hate not on who or even how to love. IMHO religion is never about love, only hate. Witness 'Xian Nationalism'.
