''Acts 24:15And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous''I certainly have, and nowhere in the Bible does it say that we will be "saved" from physical death.
I would start with checking about God.Same for me. God save me from false beliefs!
Spiritual life, spiritual death. You first need to give evidence about existence of soul/spirit.Nobody is ever saved from physical death except for a time, but we can all be saved from spiritual death which will last for eternity.
There is evidence but nothing that you would consider to be evidence.I would start with checking about God.Spiritual life, spiritual death.

I have read both Bible and Quran. But there is no reason that I should believe in what is written in those books. No evidence of what is written is provided. We too have our books, but we do not blindly believe in them. Bhagawat Purana mentions airplanes and atom bomb around the beginning of Christian Era. Would you believe that? You have never read the Bible
Evidence that satisfies only those who already believe that way is no evidence. There is evidence but nothing that you would consider to be evidence.
You are free to believe that if you want to. Below is what I believe about the resurrection because it makes sense.''Matthew 24:15And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous''
a resurrection is for some one that is dead ,they are made alive again and do all the things that living people do. those that do receive a resurrection are saved from the grave ,saved from death . there are also many millions that will not have to die . they are also saved from death in that they never will have to die all because of what Jesus did and will yet do in the future
We did not 'already believe' before we looked at the evidence.Evidence that satisfies only those who already believe that way is no evidence.
I wonder what you looked at and what you believed. We did not 'already believe' before we looked at the evidence.
I think the message of the Bible is that this fallen world is temporary and it will be consumed by fire, God will create a new heaven and earth where no sin can exist and where only purity, holiness, beauty and righteousness dwell. Since everyone sins and falls short of God’s righteousness we need to be saved by Christ and have His righteousness applied to our life to enter into eternal life in the new heaven and earth.Often Christians say they are saved. But what is it?
How are they saved? and i would think it is in the christian bible somewhere, but does it actually letter by letter say, All you have to do is to believe Jesus died on the cross, and that make you saved?? It is this part i can not understand.
As long as you believe you can do anything you want, even sin and be immoral?
Is there no inward change that must happen for a Christian to be saved?

When I was 12 I had a born-again experience, accepted Jesus as my savior.
I immediately started doing the traditional that the newly saved seem to do in this country...and I hurt some people doing it.
Jesus promptly told me to shut up, sit down, and actually look, listen, and above all THINK before saying anything else.
So I did. I haven't renounced it in the five decades since.
HOWEVER...I am not sure what it means. First, I don't accept the cosmology and cosmogony that fundamentalists seem to believe in.
Second, for Jesus' death and resurrection to mean anything at all to me, Jesus had to be fully human, with actual experience at sinning and in doubt, not knowing whether his actions would be successful or not...and there had to be a very real chance that he would fail, that the forces of darkness would win....'sacrifice' by a perfect divine being who faces no chance of losing seems pretty meaningless in my book...
I still haven't resolved this...
Salvation as Jesus taught it in the original, pre-cross Gospel was the restoration of relations with God or Allah if you prefer. Judaism had greatly complicated the matter to the point where a religion of rituals, man made laws and endless festivals replaced the personal relationship between God and his loyal child. In Judaism God was a national deity, in the Gospel of the Kingdom God is a Loving Father even to each individual.Often Christians say they are saved. But what is it?

From a few Christans i do have this feeling too. But not from all of them that is one reason for my OPEventhough they'll probably never admit it, it seems to me that what they mean is that they get a "free pass" for whatever they do or did that is supposedly bad and get rewarded anyway.
In my experience, those who do not give us that feeling, are also the ones that won't be claiming that they are "saved".From a few Christans i do have this feeling too. But not from all of them that is one reason for my OP
