What does it mean to be humble, or have humility?
Proactive humility. Keeping your own tendencies towards pride in check. Reminding ourselves we are proud and we need to improve can help.

To put the will of God before my own. The vast majority of the world’s people refuse to do this because they consider they know better than God does.

I would go with recognition that no given thing has objective value over any other. Recognition that all value propositions are subjective. To the point that one has the ability accept that, from many perspectives, even one's "self" has absolutely no value at all. An ability to realize this, and to know that it isn't necessarily a "bad" thing.
