What does "Occult" mean to YOU?

When I think occult I think of a small group of misguided people led by a figure that claims to know the truth of the universe, and that the only way to get to that truth is to do everything that figure says to do. I suppose in a way Wicca IS a cult since it was founded by Gerald Gardner in the 1940's, but I believe it was just Gardner collecting up all the ancient religions and forming it into one main religion. Everyone else's thoughts on this?

I was raised to believe it had to do with anything dealing with the supernatural outside of the christian umbrella.it's interesting to note that a word can mean different things to different people,different shades of the true meaning.no wonder there is so much confusion in the wolrd,though we are talking in the same language the meaning is often obscured.
