What English sounds like to non English Speakers

Thruve

Sheppard for the Die Hard
I came upon these two videos that are really fascinating.
They demonstrate what English sounds like to non English speakers.
So, if you speak English and your curious as to what English sounds like to non English speakers,
take a look =)

I think their speaking gibberish but throw in a few commonly pronounced English words.

ah ah----amazing
Adriano Celentano made a song in gibberish-English. I didn't even know it!
in the first video, the girl says:
- Tell me, Professor.
- Yes?
- Why did you write a song with meaningless weird words?

Yea I caught that too lol.

I read this article about the Adriano song and apparently he did it to mock the Italians.
I guess the Italians of that era were professionally singing English songs that they learned only by watching/listening to them on T.V,
and yet were getting popular for it.

well...precisely. Italians like trying to sing American songs...but given that most of them can't speak English, they invent the words.
for example..: the song, I just called to say I love you....
some Italians say: Agesco, tu sei....I love you
(yes...I love you is the only thing they understand)

Ah, Interesting ^^ Why did/do they love to sing American songs so much lol
Rather curious, or was it just to get famous and make money.

Uuuuuigh.
I will never forget t hr first tine I saw that second video (the one with the couple at the dinner table...)
We were drinking at a friend house, and no one was driving, so we decided to do a bang up job of drinking...
We were all fairly gone, and someone pulled this up on YouTube, without telling everyone else what it was..
3 min in, I thought I was having a stroke or something...
It was the quietest our drink group probably ever were, trying to figure out what the hell was going on.....

Interesting. I've seen the first video before but not the second one. I've always wondered how non-English speakers perceived English...
