In 94 when I first became a Christian, I used to listen to really heavy metal so groups like Vengence Rising, Tourniquet, Mortification, and X-sinner were really cool for me. It seemed like after D.C. Talk came out with "Jesus Freaks" Christian rock was really taking off and went for a good run until 2001. All sorts of groups were coming out. I had tapes and CD's from groups like Klank, Plank Eye, Stavesacre, Crimson Thorn, Holy Soldier, Skillet, etc.. Even groups like The Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, and Third Day were coming out with some really neat stuff. After 2001, things seemed to really calm down almost to a standstill. Some of those groups are still coming out with stuff, but it just comes across to me a mediocre. Take for instance, No offense, but if I hear "I can only imagine" one more time by any of the many artists who have done the song, I am going to scream. Don't get me wrong, I know that there are still groups coming out with new a good stuff. Take for instance, I do like LifeHouse. It just doesn't seem to be with the same zealousness there was in the ninetees.

Sincerely,
