In my culture to refer to any person as ''it'' is an extreme insult. Now imagine referring to God like that.

It is likely that, given 5 billion other species or about 99% on earth have gone extinct, humans will eventually go extinct.

If or when this happens, what becomes of your God?

God still remains the same.

None that I can think of.
But I do not know of any religious folks who would be comfortable with their God being titled 'it', so it's just a matter of care, respect and manners, I guess.

I personally refer to Brahman as “It” quite often.

It doesn’t appear to consider the pronoun at all disrespectful.

I like to think of everything as Mother Nature, it just works for me.
