I want to make a positive thread because sometimes we get too distracted by our differences.

So this is my list of what I like about the following religions (or lack of) which are not my own. Please feel free to do the same.

Judaism: I like that you approach religion with deep allegorical understandings

Christianity: I like that you also see God as the God of Love, who loves us all

Islam: I like that you have such intense single-pointedness to your religious practice

Baha'i: I like that you see truth everywhere

Hinduism: I like that it sees God as love and life and as being everywhere and in all things.

Jainism: I like that you are conscientious of all living things

Buddhism: I like your peace

Sikhism: I like your concept of reality is Panentheistic (same as mine)

Paganism: I like that you see divinity all around

Atheism/Agnosticism: I like your rational approach to important matters

I appreciate the above approaches of understanding human life; would like that all become one; loving the one true creator God and serving the global human community with peace and sincerity.

Judaism: Emphasis on family values, intelligence, and discussion.
Christianity: Music, culture, art, stories.
Islam: Simplicity and love

Hinduism: Taught me much that I still value
Buddhism: Great wisdom
Daoism: Peace and spontaneity

I left a few out because I don't think I could list all of them, so I focused on the ones I know most about.

Alceste

Vagabond
Christianity: I like that some of you take Jesus' message of radical socialism to heart, and do great things for people who are suffering, all over the world.

Judaism: I like that most of you are practically atheists, as far as I can see. :D

Islam: I like that you preserved much of the world's most significant written knowledge from destruction during the middle ages.

Buddhism: I like the outfits and the incredible kung fu moves, plus the vegetarianism, benevolence and meditation.

Hinduism: I like your creativity, artistry and highly refined sense of showmanship, and your general lack of dogma.

Scientology: ... The... Uh... I suppose I enjoyed Battlefield Earth... In a way... :p

A very nice thread. :)

Catholicism: I love the profound writings of Catholic mystics over the centuries, the importance given to Mary and the beauty of the rosary and Catholic and Christian artwork.

Islam: I like your devotion, the concept of surrendering to Allah and how beautiful hijab can look.

Hinduism: I like the colours! I like the plurality, the temples, and the statues.

Neo-Pagansim: I like the focus some traditions have on the Mother Goddess. I like the rituals, I like the closeness to nature. And I used to be one, back in the day. :D

Atheism (if I can put it in a thread about 'religions'): I like some of your great scientific minds, my favourite at the moment is Lawrence Krauss. <3

Sha'irullah

رسول الآلهة
Islam: the most monotheistic religion in history(so far). It fascinates me with its almost mythical Bedouin roots.

Judaism: So much rich culture attached to a religion making it so exotic and imaginative. It is indeed one of the most mysterious religions despite it commonality amongst people.

Sikhism: THE most boldest religious movement ever considering the time it born under. A religion founded under times of tension and frustration within India to bring about peace.

Catholicism: It just seems so holy. Step into a Catholic church and you will understand what I mean. Words can't describe the apparent saintliness of Catholicism.

Christianity: A religion that literally claims god is love itself. It is the largest religion alive as of now and surprisingly has kept this number for quite a while.

Neo-Paganism: Keeping an old flame burning for centuries despite the odds is impressive while preserving the rich culture of nations world wide.

Hinduism: The most mystical religion to date and the oldest. It implements everything ever known about god into one large yet tasty morsel.

I could go on forever but I think I should quite while I am ahead :p

Hinduism: I love your tolerance, your lack of needing to convert people. All in all you are by far the most deep and beautiful philosophy I've ever come across.

Just did religions that resonated the most with me..obviously not all :)

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Christianity: Brother and Sisterhood.
Islam: Beautiful architecture. Calls for prayer.

Islam: I like your devotion, the concept of surrendering to Allah and how beautiful hijab can look.

It is submission to truth which is another name/attribute of Allah, the one true creator God. If we concentrates on truth, I think, we could unite in one true path.

Thanks Paarsurrey. In Sikhi, the first words of our Guru Granth Sahib Ji (scripture) are Ik Onkar (One Universal Creative Force), Sat Naam (True Reality). I think personally that is one big thing Sikhi and Islam have in common.

Okay, here comes the long list!

-Judaism: I like the deep history, the unique culture and how you dig deep to understand the scriptures.

-Christianity: I like to read about the Saints, Jesus was likely an amazing person and Christianity has evolved to have sects that can suit almost anyone (some people can see that as bad but I see it as positive).

-Islam: I love modesty, Quran recitations are beautiful and there's almost nothing as amazing as to see all of the people praying at the Kaaba.

-Hinduism: So vast and wonderful. There's so many ways to attain God, you can really relate to the deities (one I like the most is Krishna) and some texts I read, you really wonder how this has been written thousands of years ago because there's such wisdom! Some of it sounds more modern than more recent religions.

-Buddhism: I like the ethics, meditations and the simplicity.

-Jain: I love how important ALL life is for Jains, they really take it seriously. I don't know much of it but my impressions are that Jainism is the most peaceful feeling religion.

-Sikhism: I love the devoltional singing, Gurus, bravery of past Sikhs, Panentheistic view of God, etc. There's so much to like about Sikhi, not a lot I don't.

-Bahai/Cao Dai: They're different but same comments for both. I like how you guys are trying to reunite religions together and how you read all texts, you don't dismiss good that's contained in them. It's a beautiful ideal.

-Modern Pagan/Wicca: Different religions but same comments for both. Deep reverence for nature, following of the cycles, being in touch with the world around them, reintroducing old stories and values with a modern interpretation, various paths but none is the only one, great ethics and acceptance of differences.

-Daoism: I like the view of opposites being one whole, complementary, rather than being seperate. I wish I understood more of it, I feel it has very deep wisdom and that someone following it could truly be happy and content. Oh Tao of Pooh is really good!

I commented on those I know about. Sorry for errors, I try my best to understand and for some, I only know the basics. There's a few left out because I don't know enough at all to comment (Confucianism, for example).

I think you can find something good about all Religions, I think the people who started them really wanted to better humanity. The core message is more of less the same, shows we all want the same things just in different ways. Also, the architechture we got because of Religion, is wonderful!

The core message of every revealed religion is the same as in the origin every religious leader of a revealed religion was sent by one true creator God.

Here are some more.

Thelema: Was instrumental in shaping my religious and cultural perspective from teen age days to early adulthood. I enjoyed Crowley's poetry and literature, and I still do.

Temple of Set: I think that predynastic Egyptians would observe the ToS which much joyful irony to see that Set gives Horus a run for his money in 21st century religion. Thousands of years after the unification of Egypt left Horus triumphant and Set in the edges of society, Set makes a comeback in a lively LHP order which challenges our daft religious taboos.

Druze: They have a uniqe role in our society, and they dare to have different agendas than the common ones in the Middle East, that in addition to their uniqe mystical and spiritual belief system which places them outside the scope of mainstream Islam makes them an interesting community.

Judaism: I like that the lot of you have gone through Hell and back, and STILL believe and practice what you do. Seriously. That takes a heck of a lot of strength and commitment.

Islam: I like your guys' devotion to your faith; a lot of the Hadith, Qur'an and practices are beautiful.

Baha'i: I like that you're open to the beliefs of everyone.

Hinduism: I like the acceptable diversity of belief in your practice, and your acceptance of not only differing views within your own religion, but of other religions as legitimate paths to the truth.

Jainism: I like that the fundamentalists of your guys' religion are so overwhelmingly concerned with being peaceful and gentle that you protect even the lives of bugs :D

Buddhism: I like your tranquility and wisdom.

Sikhism: I like that you don't force yourselves on others; you simply say "This is what we believe, this is who we are, and we have no problem with you."

Paganism: I like the diversity and individuality of expression and devotion, and your acceptance of others' practices.

Atheism/Agnosticism: I like your emphasis on making the best possible decision with the evidence available to you.

Taoists: I like your emphasis on harmony and balance between all things.

Gnostics: I like your search for the transcendent reality.

LHP: I like how you guys pick up subjects and ideas difficult for us RHP'ers to square with, and completely make peace with them.[/quote]

Question Everything
I love the similarities between all of the different faiths. I don't know of any faith that does not value charity, humility, peace, truth, and above all else - love. I love that we all have the same goals - to find happiness and joy for all mankind. Different paths that God-willing will all lead to the same destination.
