What if Consciousness is Not Important?

I know little of that faith but are you sure that is correct, as that makes no sense to me. Who would prefer nonexistence to existence?

Consciousness in this case is seen as a narrator. A part of your brain that keeps a running account of who you are and what you are about. It's an illusion of who you think you are and who you think you ought to be.

It tends to get in the way of just being. IOW it's not you. Everyone is afraid they would not exist without it. It keeps them trapped in an illusion of being something they are not.

Yes sir, I too am one of those who believes that you although may exist without it, are nothing but a brainless robot without it.

Maybe, although sometimes it seems humans are brainless robots with it as well.

it doesn't

it just there to help you through the everyday task of keeping your body alive

Perhaps but the idea is everyone else in the world could lack this conscious self-awareness and you'd never know the difference.

I do seem to be 'self' aware

and I would be beside myself....literally
after I die

and if 'I' lose my sense of self altogether
then our existence as individuals is a mystery

why generate all of this?
all the world is a stage?
and we are the players?

Perhaps there is something significant going on with the universe. some creator with plans.

Humans could still be an insignificant byproduct. No more important than the smell on a fart.

I believe this form does in turn ....form a unique spirit
on each occasion

it's done this way to get around mirror image if done on a spiritual method
