It depends on the purpose of the alteration. If you're altering the DNA to remove a propensity toward developing cancer, for example, then that can be positive.

They're Chinese! A half an hour later, you'd have to engineer another one!
And if you create a Chinese German hybrid, half an hour later they're hungry for power.
But yes, genetic enhancements are inevitable & can be quite ethical.

Gattaca is one of me all time favorite movies.
I must...must I tell you....watch it every now & then.

I think it is an inevitable consequence of Darwinian theory. If it helps a species survive it will be implemented. Like drugs in sport, you might slow it down but you wont stop it.
