I thought to post this because I was listening to Christian radio and the DJs were laughing and joking and talking about the “first thing” they will do when life returns to “normal” as if life is ever going to be the same. Granted, it might return to a semblance of normality but I do not think life on earth will ever be the same as it was before this pandemic. Granted, I do not know what other people are thinking just from a few comments they make on the radio. However, I tend to think that some people believe that life will return to normal whereas some people probably think life will never be the same. I also think most people would like to see life return to normal although a few people might not want to see that happen because they see some positives that have come about as a result of this pandemic.
Since psychology is my other hat and one I wore a lot longer than my religion hat I tend to analyze people and why they think and do what they think and do.
Probably the people who would like to see life return to normal are people who have a happy and settled life with friends and family and lots of fun activities they enjoy outside the home. It only makes sense that people who lost their jobs or were temporarily laid off would like to see their lives return to normal, but many people like the DJs who are still working say they miss social activities like going to church, weddings, graduations, even birthday parties, and going out to eat at restaurants or to the movies. I am sure some people also miss being able to travel.
But what would happen to those people who are “waiting” for life to return to normal if life never returned to normal (pre-Coronavirus)? What if they could not have all the material things they want and all the fun activities they enjoy so much? Would more people turn to God and spiritual things or would they just get depressed or angry and possibly turn to substance abuse?
Given so many people were distraught about not being able to get toilet paper, I can only imagine what they would do if they could not have all the other things Americans and others in industrialized countries take for granted.
Of course this is all hypothetical. Any of you who are regulars on this forum knows that Trailblazer loves hypothetical scenarios.
Join the crowd. The stay at home orders have not changed my lifestyle at all since the only time I go out is to the grocery store twice a week and I am still doing that. The only difference is that I work at home now so I do not see anyone in the office except my husband and the 10 cats.Being a curmudgeon semi-antisocial old man, all I can say is welcome to the anti-social party. Nothing has changed much for me other than going out of your way to avoid other people is now in style. The technology we have now is making it much easier to be a social recluse.
If staying at home watching movies on a streaming service and getting your pre-cook restaurant food dropped off at the curbside is the new normal, I'm all in.
Yeah, it is quite simple. You don't believe in what they say and they don't believe in what you say. No other religion accepts the 19th Century Iranian preacher as sent by Allah or God.We are not in opposition to religions just because we disagree with some of what they teach. We do not agree with everything other religions teach because we believe that it has been changed by men since it was revealed by God. It is really that simple.
No other religion accepts any other religion except their own religion. So what?Yeah, it is quite simple. You don't believe in what they say and they don't believe in what you say. No other religion accepts the 19th Century Iranian preacher as sent by Allah or God.

I agree, but that won't happen for a long time, unless God intervenes on earth.Eventually, everyone will see the light and accept the true religion.
I think my question would be. What is normal? We change all the time, so back to pre corona? is that even a thingI thought to post this because I was listening to Christian radio and the DJs were laughing and joking and talking about the “first thing” they will do when life returns to “normal” as if life is ever going to be the same. What would that look like?New I wouldn't be surprised if we try and repeat the 1950s or the 1940s.
I meant back to pre corona, back to the way it was just before it happened.I think my question would be. What is normal? We change all the time, so back to pre corona? is that even a thing
I don't think it will go back to exactly the same, and i hope for the sake of this planet that we stop polluting it as we used to do with all the cars, airplanes, trucks and so on. I hope we develop more nature-friendly transportation.I meant back to pre corona, back to the way it was just before it happened.
I meant back to the normal lives we were living, what is normal for us as individuals.
My life was not normal by most people's standards even then but now it is even less normal than it was.
What would that look like?
What would that look like?
Sure sounds good to me. I grew up in the 50s and 60s and in so many ways those days were better than today.Maybe more restrictive rules for teens going out on dates, people become less sexual for the need of avoiding pandemic. Since we are turning to music via the internet watching people perform, maybe less dependency on the internet electronic, more old-time entertainment, board games come back in style.
Holding hands without sex in style with dating, maybe fewer people going to big groups of entertainment, and more small groups get together.

I would still want a computer but I could live without a cell phone. As it is I have two corded land lines and only use a cell for emergencies and personal calls at work.
I rarely think about sex unless someone mentions it, but this could lead to more sex instead of less sex because if people are stuck at home what else are they going to do, besides watch TV or movies or post on forums? So as long as they know their partner is not infected they are good to go, whether they are married or not. I am not for that because I do not believe in sex out of wedlock, but I can see it happening.
I do not think the clock can be turned back though, people are too accustomed to what they have now.
I think that when this pandemic is over people will resume their normal activities, what was normal for them.
Of course I could be wrong, if the pandemic does not end, and then people will all have to make adjustments.
I do not have much to adjust to because In am not a social person, I do not shop for anything but groceries, and I do not eat out or go to movies.
I agree, I think a lot of things will be different such as transportation and I can live with that because I much prefer to ride a bike, or I take a bus if I have to, rather than drive a car. I never fly so that does not affect me. I think we will always need long haul trucks to transport food and other goods unless there was another way.I don't think it will go back to exactly the same, and i hope for the sake of this planet that we stop polluting it as we used to do with all the cars, airplanes, trucks and so on. I hope we develop more nature-friendly transportation.
That could happen if people do not have a partner or a family and they are lonely. Beats taking drugs or drinking.I thought about this. With the loneliness people could become more dependant on home pornography. May be prostitutes as well.
The true religion is atheism / advaita / science. Accept only what has evidence. How is Hinduism different?
My Guru was Hindu, trying to think back to what he taught. He was somewhat in opposition to other Hindu sects, like the Hare Krishnas.
And when it does, there is sure, an ulterior motive. No other religion accepts any other religion except their own religion. So what?
What motive would that be?And when it does, there is sure, an ulterior motive.
