I'd be lost without my debit card, i rarely carry more than €20.
The rest ...

People still use them here at supermarket checkouts... It's damn annoying if you are stuck behind one.
Most places here don't accept them anymore.

My dad took the entire family to dinner once and tried to pay by check.

My sister covered him and he gave her the check.

I wonder if checks would start to make a comeback...

I remember buying stuff on eBay with checks when I was younger.
I used to go to a restaurant where they preferred my checks. Restaurants get a nice chunk taken out of their bill to pay for being paid by debit or credit cards. They were very disappointed when I switched to debit card.

If we could still make homemade mac and cheese the world wouldn't end. We could live without the prepackaged box crud and that other stuff.

news websites
We'd be left with only outright lies rather than a range from truth to distortions of the truth.
macaroni and cheese,
No loss
The Book of Genesis
Religions have creation stories. There'd be another Genesis substitute created.
debit cards all ceased to exist?
I kept only an ATM card until there was a situation where I HAD to have a debit card. I'm sure there'd be a substitute.

Macaroni ham, news sheds, the book of Depeche Mode and payment by chain of acquaintances are all waiting in the wings.

We would likely be in the Sone Age, because all of the above are an integral part of an evolving technology of civilization. It is difficult to try an separate one technology from another.

Unfortunately a lot of Americans like bad Fettuccine Alfredo. Have you ever seen the jarred sauce? Restaurants are not that bad, but it is still rather soupy.
If you eat at a mediocre restaurant,
expect mediocre food. I eat at good
ones....most of the time.

Where I first had it....
Excerpted...
"In 1977, Armando Di Lelio (Alfredo's son) and a partner opened a restaurant called "Alfredo's" near Rockefeller Center in New York...."

BTW, I seldom have Fettuccini Alfredo,
preferring other noodle & pasta dishes.
Pray tell, at what restaurant did you have
sub-standard fare? Certainly not Alfredo's.

BTW, Menards sometimes sells Alfredo
sauce (in a jar). It's the best offered by
any lumber yard in the world.
