What if you're a Masochist?

What if you're a Masochist?

Should you still
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?"

Or does this commandment give rise to "exceptions"?

Most masochists are unconscious about it, are mysteries to themselves, and operate on autopilot.

Everyone who's aware of it and chooses to pin that label to themselves have probably already joined a BDSM club or something :flirt:

Masochism is a disorder, so, probably not.

Well certainly there are MANY people who allow & even encourage others
to use them & boss them around to a degree which would give them only a "figurative" label of "masochist".

How is this commandment of any use to people who don't know how to be loved and treated well?
Or don't WANT to be loved or treated well?
Or mistake OTHER things .... negative attention.... for acceptance?
(which I'm guessing is an awful lot of people)

I'm guessing these people wouldn't be to concerned with Jesus' command/s then?
lolol

I guess it's just another example of how there is no "good" and "bad." Why are the people who aren't masochists the ones who are right?

There are good, constructive and bad, harmful ways of expressing masochistic tendencies. From my own experience, people who are masochists tend to be rather unhappy though.

I think that's bad, but of course I don't put quotes around good and bad. :)

"I love to put quotes around things." :D

I was referring to you being a nihilist goofy

Interestingly enough, I know a devout Christian couple who are into BDSM, and I know they aren't the only ones. But I'm getting off-topic. :)

No.... not off topic at all actually.

So I guess they are in fact "Doing unto the other as they would have done?"
Does this mean they switch roles necessarily?
Or maybe more.... "I please you however you like.... as I would like you to please me however I like".
haha! not traditional christian role play. I like it.

Nice twist Bitterfly. ;)

I'm a little behind in my bible studies, but I don't think the Bible has "Thou shalt not spank" anywhere in it, and since they took the time to say, "Thou shalt not do high-brow things with animals" I would think it must have been deliberate.

"Thou shalt not illegally download movies off the internet."

Is that in there? Surely it is.

Well I think that would fall under the general catagory of "Thou shalt not Steal".

There is no general heading prohibiting ...erm... roleplay sex punishment fun.
Between monogomous mixed gender married couples that is, of course.:cover:

Eh masochist only enjoy it when they got their little safe word. Out in the real world with no safe word, all the sudden they don't enjoy it quite as much. :sad4:
