*peers suspiciously into the screen*

You sound a lot like my cousin, you know.
You're not actually a 21 year old red-headed emo, are you???

If so, don't knock off my frigging beer this Christmas, or your axe will be minus strings.
Add just a few years, replace emo with metalhead, and rephrase red-headed to ******* awesome strawberry blonde.:D
And if my axe comes up minus some strings, you may come up minus something very close to yourself.:fork:

Naw...whatever used to be very close to myself is now kept in a jar somewhere by my wife. It's a nice jar, so I shouldn't complain.

As for being a metalhead...

:jam:

What? Me worry?
Guitar (mostly acoustic), some hammered dulcimer. I am starting to lust after a hang drum.

Thanks. I am interested. I bought mine at a folk festival from the guy who made it. It is a PVC tube that was warped with heat for a more natural look and playing sound, then completely painted. My main concern was that it plays a true D (perfect for Irish music), and it's easy to play. :D

I have a friend who makes wooden ones. I will buy one eventually. He gave me a hand made Oud that I'm still figuring out. I owe him. :)

This is mine

I also use to play the Guitar, started with electric, went to Acoustic, then to classical and then back to acoustic and then....I stopped....after about 20 years of playing and that was a little over 15 years ago. Got rid of my electrics, still have the acoustic and classical but I no longer play them.

Tried Mandolin too but that is in a case in my closet.

It is all Didge these days...however I am thinking about Violin

An interesting thing about my main bass guitar, I have absolutely no idea what brand it is. The only marking is a logo that says series 1. It's a five-string fretless that although it doesn't sound top of the line, it doesn't have the low-end crap sound of cheap instruments which means it's good enough for me.
I'm actually surprised I'm still hanging onto my first electric guitar, which is a First Act that probably rates among one of the world's worst sounding guitars. The low end ply-wood Fenders even sound alot better than that, by all practicle defintions and means, unplayable piece of junk. But now that I think about it, I think I'll keep it around just until I get my first good opportunity to trash an instrument on stage. Because nothing says rock 'n roll like the time honored tradition of smashing your guitar on stage.

I've played guitar for years and learned some bass as well, acoustic and electric for both. I've been trying to work on writing and vocals lately. I've been more in a writing mood so I'm bound to spit out more music here pretty soon.

For a few months I've thought about recording a solo bass album, but my biggest problem isn't the 10 dollar computer microphone and cheap recording software, it's that I can come up with a good riff, but then hit a block when wondering what to put with it to make it a full song. Unless I've had a few beers, then I can improv the inbetweens.
I am also convinced that Buckethead just pushes the record button and starts playing and calls it an album (not a diss on him, but so many albums, so many short songs, but yet such a variety) that I've thought about doing the same. Hit record, play, take the parts I like, combine them, call it a song, repeat about 10 times, and call it an album.

My son bought a didge to play in his band and to improve his breathing. His 3 year old son got hold of it and started playing Hendrix on it (Purple Haze intro). Seriously.

Drums (just repainted them myself), Guitar, Bass, Piano, Any string instrument, though I can't work a bow, (teaching myself) trumpet, synths and all that jazz. I know a rather great deal of Western music theory, so any instrument really is known in the sense of notes, but all such instruments take a great deal in practice in technique to use.

As far as the old digital world, I've done everything from noise improv (analog/digital), field recordings, all sorts of strange productions, and I pretty much love and collect strange music software, but mainly use Audacity (for certain things) and Ableton Live 9 for most other things. These days, I probably spend more time producing... sampling, composing, making incredibly weird things, and just generally willing to do anything that produces a sound.

How long did it take you to get a handle on that Audacity program? I still struggling with it for a year now. I must be doing something wrong.
