What is a Christian and who thinks they have the right to judge who is and who isn't.

In Catholic teaching anyone who has undergone a valid trinitarian baptism is Christian. Bob may be a bad Christian. He may be a schismatic: he may be a heretic. But the mark of baptism is believed to be indelible. Which means it cannot be undone by sin.

A true follower of any faith is one's who's deeds reflect the Word that was proclaimed. When one's words dominate over deeds, then that faith is very weak.

My goodness Tony!!!!
If you get any tattier you'll look like a younger version of me!
Where ya bin?

Your definition automatically junks a rather large % of Christians, I think.
In order to satisfy greed or righteousness they'll spin the words of Paul or John over and over, and never a word from Jesus.
I've noticed that some Muslims will quote many sages and religious teachers without a word from the Quran.

My guide to genuine Faith is this:-
Let's not apply our standards to others, but let's find out what other's standards are and then see if they do live by them.

Hello OB, I hope all is well with you and family.

With that statement you offerd, I would offer in return, if we did look back to all the Holy books as to the standard we are asked to live by, then we would find we would serve each other in the same way, we would find unity, in our diversity.

On the other hand, If we were to look at the standards men have made, then we live on as we are, as no change needed.

With the later option, the world will bite back.

Stay safe OB, stay happy and we'll. My wife likes bushman, bushman I go, happy wife, happy life. ;) :D

What people do is that they have a picture of Jesus in their minds, what he looks like, how he dresses, what he believes and does, and what he wants you to believe and do. Now if someone comes along claiming to be Christ and he does not fit the "picture" then they will not believe it is Christ. This is what happened to Jesus when he came before, in the minds of many he just didn't fit the picture and therefore was crucified. The trick of course is having the right picture. I might have the right picture, or I might not, but according to my picture I don't see anyone else who has the right picture, maybe some do, I just don't see them.

Again, what people do is they create their own religion, not the religion of the Bible, no, they don't like the religion of the Bible so they create their own religion, and that religion becomes their religion. These people think their religion is the one true religion, but it isn't.

The Bible says that unless God reveals the truth to you, you can't know the truth. This is really scary when you think about it. You, therefore, as I see it, one can not teach the truth to others, for it is God who reveals the truth, not you. And I have a saying: "If you tell lies in this word you get rich, if you tell the truth you get killed". Satan's world runs on lies, not the truth, therefore no truth is permitted. As the disciple said "The night cometh when no man can work", that time is now.

Hello OB, I hope all is well with you and family.
All is well now, Tony.... I think.
I've had a number of tests, scans and operations this year, including the loss of a kidney and a manual op to clear up a huge mess next to it.... robots couldn't do it. The op scar is 14" long. Then I suffered a post-op gut blockage called 'ileus'. Well, you asked....! :D

There is not much unity within religions, leave alone without.
Having studied the gospels for many years I see as much distortion, manipulation, deception and outright dishonesty as I might find in in the Margate bar-stewards brotherhood. But there is always a shining light within any corrupted and dark void.... we live in this condition wherever we chose to go, I think.

On the other hand, If we were to look at the standards men have made, then we live on as we are, as no change needed.
We haven't got a good record, either in or out of religion.

With the later option, the world will bite back.
It always did, always has, always will......... Nature rules, OK?

You are right I did ask, and I am glad I did, I hope all goes well as you mend from the work they have done to you. :)

My mother passed a couple of weeks ago, very unexpected, as it is my Father that is not well and mother was caring for him.

You are correct, no religion has reached its potential and there is no doubt the Baha'i Faith has not and will not as well. In saying that, it will be the choice of a majority in the future. :D (If you are a betting man, I gave you the best tip ever) :p

Nature is definitely much, much better that materialistic men beasts, hands down Nature rules over them.

I agree Kent and Bushman is not compatible, why not move to Normanton, here you will be right at home and summers only reach mid 40 Celsius. o_O least it's not too cold.

Regards Tony

Sorry to hear about your Mother, Tony, and any resulting difficulties about your Father.
My Dad died in 1983, and Mother in 2003. Not good times.......

As a Deist, I acknowledge that the local guv'nor here is Mother Nature. She gives and she takes, but I am very glad that I have experienced some of her offerings.

I'm uncomfortable at 30 celsius, Tony.
I was a metal detecting nut during the 70's and 80's and I would have loved to go Gold hunting if I had been an Ozzie, but the temperatures would have roasted me. I watch 'Gold Hunters' on telly.
