I'm not middle aged but I have heard this term before Infact there's even a song about this phenomenon from 1992 called mid life crisis. So what exactly is a mid life crisis and how does one identity one ?

Life looses meaning, one searches for different answers to the path they are walking.I'm not middle aged but I have heard this term before Infact there's even a song about this phenomenon from 1992 called mid life crisis. So what exactly is a mid life crisis and how does one identity one ?
I imagine that must drive at least a lot of it. It's not designed for personal enrichment or advancement, it's not intended to make society a better place, but were told we must pursue success as defined by corporate wankers who want us to slave away for them and give our lives to them so we can live in their materialist glory that were told will give us fulfillment and joy and give our hard earned money back to them (but in practice it works more like a drug dealer pushing stuff to create a market through addiction).Midlife crisis is when you begin to get a clue that all that scratching and clawing to get to the top of the hill has only gotten you a lot of broken fingernails and a better view of the bottom.
That's not a midlife crisis, thats just not keeping up with friends.A midlife crisis is when you see an old friend at the store, and instead of saying hi, you turn and walk away. Then you go home and realize that all of your friendships have come and gone away.
I went throughout that young.A midlife crisis is when all of your pets begin to age out and die, and you begin to understand how much more loss is in store for you, through the function of death, until the day you die.
A midlife crisis is when you realize that you will never love anyone like you loved your ex, even though it has been many years since.
Those again are things people go through at any age.A midlife crisis is when you've lost the drive to keep going, but you have to keep going for the sake of others.
Mid life can happen at any ageThose again are things people go through at any age.
I think I did this in my late teens / early twentiesA midlife crisis is when you realize you will never achieve your ambitions and dreams and it gets to you.

thats true. But who says I'm not halfway through my life already. I'd be willing to bet I've already hit my halfway point. I have gone through all of my "mid life crisis'". Now I've gone through them, I wait for the near end. You're not even 30.
I think part of when 'mid life' happens on when that person views 'old age' as happening.Mid life can happen at any age
