What is God to you

I can agree with what most people here say, especially about the Universe.

I would rather describe God as the universe when it comes to being simple, as far as it being a product of the mind I'm not so sure about.

What is our mind a product of? Magic is a much deeper than what people apprehend on the surface. Along with mental tools come spiritual tools and well who knows...maybe even our most primal tools.

The mind is a product of the brain. We owe everything to ohr brains. I am well aware of the depths of magic(k), I am just also aware that despite how deep it is there still isn't anything "magical" about it. Mental, spiritual, primal tools all work because of the brain. God is only a useful tool as long as one believes He exists, or if can use symbolism effectively.

“The one place gods inarguably exist is in our minds, where they are real beyond refute, in all their grandeur and monstrosity.” — Alan Moore

One of my favorite quotes by my favorite author.

In terms of words and intellect God is Unknowable. But it is fun to try anyway.

Energy. The universe. The beloved. The true self. Everything and nothing.

I think my favorite definition of God however is reality.

If there is a supreme being can it be the one described in some holy books, seems to me God is a gap filler and someone applied a Human face to the name God,afterall everything we know about God has come from the mouth of a Human and as we know from experience Humans are fallible, just my opinion.

For me in Abrahamic Terms

God is the anthropomorphic projection of a personality we have given to the positive energy in the universe that is perceived on the edge of our consciousness. Satan is the anthropomorphic projection of a personality we have given to the negative energy in the universe that is perceived on the edge of our consciousness.

I am not sure if the positive and negative energies are actually separate, they may coexist within a single entity as yin and yang.

In Pagan Terms.

Gods are attempts to compartmentalize universal energy into more understandable concepts with the understanding that such energy could be interacted with although results may vary drastically.

I disagree, everything may be a product of our minds but our minds are a product of something much more signifying than symbology and literalism. They are apart of something too great to comprehend.

There are completely magical things about magic, like for example that outside things influence our internal mind/brain. It is a very real thing that is not always recognized as a source beyond effective psychological manipulation. There's just more too it than that, more to people than superficial projections that lay into a "deeper ultimatum".

Yes, our minds are a product of complex brain activity. The brain is complex but I think we will understand it one day, it is not too great to comprehend. You are adding mythology onto reality to make it seem more special. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as you realize what you are doing.

Now, if you want to get into how everything is made of something fundamental that is complex beyond our current understanding, that is true. But it does not change the fact that our mind is simply a product of evolved brain activity.

It depends how you define magic. Everything that happens is natural and explainable, which to me does not make it truly magical. Sadly, it isn't anything more that psychological manipulation. There isn't much more to it than that, it is just amazing and complex that it works so we see it as something magical.

God(dess)/s/ to me are dependent on which one I want to talk about and which one I use in ritual.

I also will represent deities through nature: e.g. Thor exists (Thor = Lightning), etc.

But mostly, when I'm talking about the god X, I believe in X for that very moment, subconsciously, otherwise I wouldn't be able to discuss X.

God is basically what is described in the ot or torah for me who can do anything Irrational etc. No one is above him an nothing can know of him. He also which in my opinon make the most logical sence would follow an Agnostic/deiestic way of being not really getting invole unless he has some message he wants to spread.

God is the interdimensional planner, creator, observer, and partial controller of the universes. God is not a he or a she, God is an it or a they. God favours peace, positivity, self restraint, and order. We all have some God in our souls, some more than others, and it can be made to grow or diminish within us. With it our weaknesses are strengthened. Without it our weaknesses become worse.

I'm not adding mythology onto reality (which mythology is actually a very real part of reality if I might add, but thats not the point).

Maybe one day we will understand it, but I am highly doubtful. Knowledge dies with man, and even the most potent knowledge dies when its "manifestor" dies as well.

But with all of that being said I wouldn't doubt if we already understand all there is too understand, since we come from a primal origin it would make sense that this type of knowledge is already instinctually within us. But then again I am highly doubtful.

Now, if you want to get into how everything is made of something fundamental that is complex beyond our current understanding, that is true. But it does not change the fact that our mind is simply a product of evolved brain activity.

And what is our brain a product of (this is key here, think outside of our mind (box)?

Our minds and brains would cease to hold any function if there was no "outside" to bounce off of.

There isn't much more to it than that, it is just amazing and complex that it works so we see it as something magical.

But there is, everything is natural but that doesn't automatically equate to everything being explainable.

Like the supernatural, some have this limited understanding that its just imaginary while others believe that there are forces outside of nature that actually exceed nature itself. And then we have life itself that lacks any potent and 100% certain definition or meaning too.

But then again to simply explain something thats hard to explain I guess we could just say its "unexplainable".

And there is much more too magic other than psychological manipulation, from a magicians perspective at least, it involves willingness. Though I do understand how it is "psychological manipulation", I see the human psyche as something much more potent than the essentials that allow our very psychology to be manipulated. Its easy to say "all it is, is psychological manipulation" because any word spoken or anything expressed is an attempt to manipulate one's psychology. As you've heard me say, every time we speak we are attempting to make a sale.

Magic and "God essence" are in the souls of every man (yes women too), but this does not make every man a magician or a God. One must possess enough force and brute strength to uphold the status thereof, just like to be a champ in the UFC you have to be a champ (or beat the champ).

The potential will always be there.
