What is it with Radical Muslims and beheadings?

About as many times as the STATE has tried to give me the electric chair.

...But this isn't about me. It's about right and wrong. It's about *caring*, and pointing the light on a religion that has special ways for killing people.
I don't think for a second that this thread was motivated by *caring.*

No,
On innocent people? I don't support state execution, but apples and oranges.
Last year all Texas' executions were black people - are all white people innocent or do they just have the best lawyers

When the US stops executions its citizens can critisice nations/religions that behead people until then it should concentrate on getting its own house in order.

Why does a religion need to kill at all?
It doesn't. But some people will become obsessed with the idea of their own righteousness, and some religious groups pander to that obsession for cohesion, and control.

Yes, they bother me too - but beheading or lethal injection is a tad too harsh for them. Just chop their hand off.
My point is that comparing unrelated things we don't like is silly whataboutism. I don't like capital punishment either, but that's nothing like murdering random innocents over ideology.

Yes, quite often a Christian will deny the OT has influence over Christians. I have yet to see one who advocates removing the OT from the christian bible and thus reducing its size by 85%.

Actually I see an overarching connection Old and New.

The connection carries things over in a sense and in the sense but not in an arbitrary cherry picked way but in a way consistent with how the New Testament carries ideas over.

I don't know. It's a good question. I can attempt to apply apologetics to it; but, I think that would be in poor taste considering how recently these people were killed.

However, here's something...

I'm not in favor of any death penalty personally. However, if the execution method was more like a guillotine, i would be less opposed to it.

Guillotine - Wikipedia

One thing that does kind of freak me out about the guillotine is that I've heard the human brain can survive for as long as a minute after it is severed. I also read about some experiment done with monkeys where a severed head was kept alive for days.

If they could keep a human head alive for days or even weeks after beheading, that would be a most cruel punishment.
