But science does not explain the source of where everything comes from, sure theres the big bang but what put the materials there in the first place.
A common misunderstanding. Try to look at science as a verb rather than a noun - not a thing that exists but something people do (grammatically it can be both of course but this is just about perception of the concept).But science does not explain the source of where everything comes from, sure theres the big bang but what put the materials there in the first place.

Really? You have an explanation on where God came from? If you're going to say god always existed... well then... that's a cool cop out, but now an explanation. Why does god always exist instead of comeing into existence? If your response to that is because otherwise we'd go in an infinite regression. Can't I just say the same about the universe? IE the universe always existed and no the big bang was not the cause of the universe.But science does not explain the source of where everything comes from, sure theres the big bang but what put the materials there in the first place.
My guess as to what he or she means is that science's explanations of "why" aren't spiritually or emotionally satisfying.
For that matter, one theory about the expansion of the universe is that eventually gravitational pull will slow the rate of expansion until it stops and begins to draw inward on itself, in effect creating another big bang. Who can say that the big bang and the universe we live in, is in fact the first to have occurred? I hope that makes sense, it's hard to tell when I'm drunk at 3:30 in the afternoon.IE the universe always existed and no the big bang was not the cause of the universe.

That's not really true is it? After all, so many "why" questions posed to the religious get answers along the lines of "We can't know the mind of God".Science = How
Religion = Why
