What is the best country in the world?

Conceivia

Working to save mankind
Can you flesh out this argument that "[we] are responsible for the actions of our nations"? What extent do you believe this? What is included?

If a person feels no responsibility for their nations actions, than a person does nothing to prevent it, and also is likely to fight a war to defend those actions.

The Bible talks about a weapon of indignation, which totally wipes out a nation referred to as Babylon. Some suggest it is USA, which could be, but could be something else.

Indignation is defined as "anger or annoyance provoked by what is perceived as unfair treatment." This suggests that one of the super powers is likely to push their bullying just a little to far, and go over the line, and then that nation will be totally wiped out in one day.

What about the "innocent civilians"? Do they deserve to be wiped out? Think about it. Who pays them taxes? Who waves the flag, and supports the troops? Who buys their products and feeds the economy that makes them strong? Who believes the propaganda of their newspapers? Who hates the people who they are told to hate? Who feeds them the power that they live off of? Where does the whole atmosphere of selfishness, greed, arrogance and hatred come from that makes them mistreat others the way they do?

The experts have just set the doomsday clock forward by 2 minutes, it is now 3 minutes to midnight. That is a jump of 40% closer to the end of the world in the experts opinions. And yet, almost nobody does anything to prevent it. Nothing to stop their nation from doing its criminal wars, or to end poverty which is the key to World Peace.

The key to World Peace and preventing Judgment Day is ending poverty. You can't have a "weapon of indignation", if everyone is treated fairly. If everyone has fairly equal power, in terms of money, there is no indignation at all.

It seems like you are basing this on nothing more than an unsubstantiated prophecy, am I wrong? There is no evidence pointing to the United States being "Babylon", unless you have a confirmation bias and you subconsciously accept that judgment day is a certainty. In other words, this is circular reasoning, as you are assuming your conclusion (that judgment day is real, will some day come, and that a major civilization will be wiped out in one day) in your premise.

The situation changes day to day, region to region, state to state, province to province, county to county, city to city, town to town, political pig to demagogue doghouse, year to year and back to day to day.

For example, I could say America, but then what if you lived in Baltimore where the Democrats have run everything for 50 years plus top to bottom, where you have a demagogue and an Afro-Centrist political pig abusing the police with false narratives of "white racist police" while the two main officers involved in the latest incident are black, they straight jacket and persecute police and business and non-blacks including with violence, riots and looting breaks out, the political pig Democrats who run Baltimore and made it the toilet it is are praising the thugs who are their "constituency", now that the police are the enemy the thugs run the streets and are murdering at an unprecendented level with 27 people shot on Memorial Day weekend just past alone and a little boy 5 years old had his face chewed off by a rapper pit bull and is now dead, the "black on black" crime is actually black on black and black on white and black on asians and not just "black communities" but murder, mayhem, crime in every neighborhood black, white, asian all victims of savages while these Democrats lie after lie and it really does suck in a place that has received billions of dollars squandered and then says the answer is not to throw the Democrats out but squander yet billions more and not one more penny should go to such goons and the place sucks.

But then there is a town in the Sierra Nevada in California that is really a great place, the people are nice, freedom abounds, no one pays attention to the "government" pigs, things are good. So it depends. But could change tomorrow. Obama could dump a bunch of illiterate illegal aliens half of which are gangbangers or Islamic terrorists and things could change.

There is a nice place in Africa, not far from Lake Victoria, that is beautiful and not too bad. But overall, where there are people not far off suddenly it is ****.

I have been in parts of Canada where it REALLY sucks, you might die.

Generalities ...

And I have homes in different parts of the world, so I don't see things as "country" and really country spans many regions.

So, I will have to use generalities and say "The West" is best when it is not Mexico though lots of South America is not nice, next "Asia" and Australasia is second best (though actually I think of Australia and NZ "The West"), the "Middle East" sucks mostly, and "Africa" sucks and I would rather be dead than born in Angola (which I know a lot about due to my job) or pretty much anyplace in Africa sucks.

Sorry, its Canada.
Y'all dumped Ken Ham on us. But Canada has kept Wirey up there.
Canada, Oh Canada!

I think there is at least some chance that this is correct. In the interests of my reputation, though, I am ignoring all objective and subjective measurements, and running with blind patriotism.

I'm gonna go ahead and say the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the best country. I am extremely biased as I live here, I will happily admit.

The real home of liberty, the best form of government (go home America, the founding fathers loved the British style and tried to copy it :p ), all that wonderful history, the glorious Empire (which did have its positives no matter how left-wing you pretend to be), and of course the monarchy. God save the Queen!

We also have the one and only NHS, our free healthcare service, which some say is overrated, and some say is bloated, and perhaps it is, but it is a little jewel of ours I believe.
You forgot to mention an abundance of water (In the north anyway) and the best beers, most local breweries and cricket

Saudi Arabia!

What? At least we don't pay taxes, medical care is cheap and good and sometimes free, they pay us in college, gas is dirt cheap, education is free, etc.

:p

Sweden and other nordic countries. No overpopulation but also civilized. The believe in humanity. Thats the best base for any peaceful religion if i had one.

Personally, i like a clear cold breath in my mind the most. Even if i also like to surf the tropic waves. :) ....

New Zealand and parts of Australia would make my list. As would Singapore for completely different reasons (best food in the world!). Love the people of rural Jamaica but the cities, not so much.

Canada has it's wonderful places.. Spring in Toronto is great! But 98% of the country is too cold for my taste. And I'm from NY.

There's good and bad everywhere. But those are a few of my favorites, and I've been around.

I haven't spent much time in Sweden, but the country seemed to have a kind of sterile feel to it. Germany had a similar feel. It's great if you like that sort of thing. Nice, comfortable, people were friendly enough. But I prefer a bit more wildness in my paradises.

Well, more power to ya buddy. But, I don't think it's the place for me. ;)
My affliction for dancing amongst lazer lights, smoke machines, and blaring PHISH might make it unreasonable.

It is not really the best place to live in, and actually a rather boring place. I just see it is really good to have those things I mentioned about it. I really enjoyed my college days. The govt. from time to time distributes extra bonus salaries and lands to citizens, release indebted prisoners and clear debts taken from banks. It has its virtues.

Yup, I respect the notion of having different tastes :)
