Since you mentioned Star Trek, Spock's sacrifice in 'Wrath of Khan' and Kirk's demise in 'Generations' as well as Lazarus' are all similar because each did what he felt was necessary to save the lives of others.

Not many of us will be faced with a 'do this or the universe will explode' or suffer for the sins of Mankind type of scenario, but I think the most overlooked sacrifices occur on a daily basis. I would submit that parents who forego a vacation, a fancy new car, or another luxury to save for their children's education and people who volunteer their time to help others are two prime examples of sacrifices that while not cosmic nor dramatic are just as noble.:162:bartdanr said:...What is the greatest sacrifice that you can imagine?...
