What is the positive side of being surrounded by too many problems?

We say that problems are the stepping stones to overcoming the impurities within you. Each problem is solved with you overcoming a certain aspect of yourself.

But making a change within isn't so easy. You need to have a lot of observance, focused, dedicated effort, single-mindedness towards overcoming that problem within you, and most importantly time for reflection/contemplation.

This means that you can only pick up 1-2 problems at a time. However, what if you are living a life that is majorly about survival? You've overburdened with so many tasks, problems, inner conflict, jealousy, hatred, bad luck, being among bad people that you're constantly burning throughout the day.

What is the positive side in this? There has to be something even in this situation. Perhaps something to do with progressing more towards improving yourself or gaining more knowledge. But there is no time to contemplate on things. Then what are the positive things in these kinds of situations?

The positive side of being surrounded by too many problems is not being buried by them. It's when a person gets so buried under them that they lose hope and feel helpless that it's time to get help.

The OP reminds me of a short chapter from the book "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden":

Her dream began with winter darkness. Out of this darkness came a great hand, fisted. It was a man's hand, powerful and hollowed by the shadows of the wells between bones and tendons. The fist opened and in the long plain of the palm lay three pieces of coal. Slowly the hand closed causing within the fist a tremendous pressure. The pressure began to generate a white heat and still it increased. There was a sense of weighing, crushing time. She seemed to feel the suffering of the coal with her own body, almost beyond the point of being born. At least she cried out to the hand "Stop it! Will you never end it! Even a stone cannot bear to this limit... even a stone...!"

After what seemed like too long a time for anything molecular to endure, the torments in the fist relaxed. The fist turned slowly and very slowly opened.

Diamonds. Three of them.

Three clear and brilliant diamonds shot with light, lay in the good palm. A deep voice called to her, "Deborah." And then, gently, "Deborah, this will be you."

For me it keeps me active, mentally and physically. My brain is always trying to solve problems it can and because I need stress relief I make sure to exercise. Is it worth it now that I've got rid of a few problems and have relaxed a bit, no I prefer the relax state but I procrastinate a lot more both mentally and physically.

I tend to procrastinate all my problems away. And then I do it again. And again. :)

...Until they go away. :)

I would feel like it was imposing to try to point this out to someone who was having those problems. The only proper thing to do is be empathic or do something to help. Telling them 'Chin up' just seems wrong to me. Perhaps a bad attitude will help them in their situation?

Be who ever you want
At the moment I can not see any good from all the negative that has happened in my life, except for if karma really is what I think it is, then the suffering I go through every day may be a blessing because it would mean I repay a lot of karma. :)

I like solving problems and seeing that light at the end if the tunnel get a little closer. Its a good feeling until another problem crops up and drives it further away again.

So solving a problem is positive and that light getting closer is really cool.

I have a friend, a manager at a large engineering company. He solves his problems by putting them in a filing cabinet draw marked problems. If he gets asked about the problem he will take it from the cabinet and work on it. If no one has asked about a particular problem for a month then he moves it to the waste bin.

Perspective?
The ability to judge which problems should be actively dealt with at any point in time?
