What is the purpose of Heaven?

What do we do when we get there? Can we do what we want? Can we sin all we want? Do we just sit there in a drugged up state due to the presence of God? What would the point be? We would all just float around having a party for eternity?

I would want to do whatever I want. Would I be able to do that in Heaven? What is the point?

If there is such; maybe we are to make our own creation and have a compitition with the other entities there. Maybe whoever makes the best creation gets to do what they want.

What is the purpose of Heaven?

To provide a term for humankind that points towards the reality of a state of being from realized union with God.

If all those creepy televangelists are going to be there, then I don't want to be any part of it. Stumbled across the Kenneth Copeland show this morning. That guy looks he's possessed by some demon or something with the glassy beady little eyes and the gremlin-like facial expressions. Not to mention he has about the same level of excitability (erratic obnoxious yelling) for God as that guy who sells Mighty Putty. If heaven is going to be just one big "divine" infomercial, then to hell with that! I'll just keep my remote handy. Same goes for that Peter Popoff guy that claims to heal people with the power of God. I think they're all a bunch of raging lunatics.......CLICK!!!

But I might be just as much of a crazy lunatic myself.:D

I feel breathless just reading your post. Doing, going, thinking, partying, maybe heaven does not have a point maybe heaven is just being?

If you can tell me the point of this life on earth here, I'll be able to tell you the point of being up there.. If there isn't any, why would heaven have any?

what is it about heaven that would make me not miss my kids and want to come back , a pretty miserable place then? unless i am somehow not really me, or altered in some way that i do not miss my kids. a bit like a stepford wife, yes very sinister!

Heaven is a place people go to get a foretaste of what it feels like to be in love.

Well, considering we'll no longer have our human "vessel" to play around in, I would imagine any "fun" to be had would have to be entirely different than what you've experienced here on Earth. A lot of your "sins" would no longer exist. Like anything sexual... without the parts, what would be the point? And you couldn't "die", I would assume, so nothing would really be dangerous or all that exhilarating anymore.

If heaven exists, I suppose some of us will find out what there is to do there, and the others will find out what there is to do elsewhere.

My guess, however, is that life is it. You're a collection of living cells all working together one minute, and a lump of fertilizer providing sustenance for a new wave of life the next. To me that's probably as close to "reincarnation" as anyone gets. And there is likely no afterlife.

Heaven can be on Earth, ya know.

Try not to view death as a vacation. It is not. When you go away to vacation, you usually go to "get away." In death, it is the opposite. Death is a way to "come back." When you go on vacation, you usually go to relax, to escape responsibility. Death, again, is just the opposite. In death, you don't escape responsibility; you "live up to it."

When you die, you are already at peace, but still quite a bit must still BE accomplished.

Death is not heaven; it is not an eternal vacancy to MY kingdom.

HELLO IT'S ME: An Interview With GOD
Chapter: LIFE AFTER DEATH or LIVING ON AN ANGEL'S WAGES
Pg: 98

Heaven seems to be a place we call home. It is a place that we prominently occupied before we incarnated into a physical existence and it seems that this is the place that we return after death. It is a place that we can reference our past existences and plan for our future physical purposes or help others with their own physical experiences. The purpose of heaven and the responsibility we enact while we are there is as varied as we are individuals.

Everyone has a different idea of what Heaven is, including yours truly. I believe that Heaven is a union with God (while Hell would be separation from God).
But I personally find great joy in learning- so even here would be a part of heaven. ;)
