what is the right one?

I am more and more confused about religion. There are so many different ones and everyone is right. How do I really know which one is the true one. Even the bible was written by man, and we are very flawed. How much was left out, and how much was changed over the years to support the beliefs of a few supposedly for the good of the many?

Welcome to RF. However, I won't be able to help you find the right religion. I don't think any of them hold a monopoly on "right".

Best let go of the dualism which tells you that in order for one world view to be "right", all others must be "wrong". It's completely unnecessary. We're very complicated apes. There is something for everyone.

No religion has the monopoly on God. Each is a path to the same Place. Find the Path that suits you the best.

how do I weed out the fact from the fiction? There are so many things I would love to believe are true, but what about the things that are supposed to happen in the last days? How can god not save the Jews because they don't worship Jesus?

That is not a question that we can answer for you. It is something you must try and search for yourself. :)

What is right for you, is what you feel comfortable with. What your own intelligence allows you to accept freely, without feeling the need to question it or have it explained to you against what you yourself truely believe.

There is no person, nor group of people who have a monopoly on God. If you choose to believe, your body is Gods Holy Temple, it goes with you everywhere.

Maybe there isn't a religion for you. Maybe you are your own religion, as many other people around the world have found comfort in their own understanding. Follow your spiritual heart, it will lead you to where you need to be.

When you find the place where you are supposed to be at, you will just know it. Everything will fall into place, and you will be at peace inside yourself, even if the problems of the world are still around you.

Forget the chore of discerning fact from fiction, and pay attention to what works and what does not work. Start with this: how do you want to feel? When you've decided this, it's a simple thing to sort the effective from the ineffective, although it takes practice.

Friend jslady,

Welcome to RF!
Best Wishes.

what is the right one?
Religion is just a PATH or WAY to travel inwards and all of them leads to ROME [enlightenment].
One should choose a PATH / WAY / RELIGION; one feels comfortable with.

That's dogma, not religion. Religion is not found in dogma, mythology, or Scriptures. Dogma and mythology are secondary, meant to express the various teachings. Scriptures are guidelines.

The core teachings are universal throughout religions.

You can weed out fact from fiction the same way you do in real life. It's not hard to figure out what's fact and what's fiction, and believing in God does not require believing the various mythologies literally. I'm Hindu, but I don't take literally ANY of the Hindu myths.

Hi
You can already tell apart the facts from fiction, as Riverwolf correctly writes. You know what parts of a story or parable you can relate to, these can be conisdered facts for you. You also know what parts are elaborative or colourful in order to lead the thoughts beyond the mundane material world. Go with your intuation, you cannot be "harmed" by the fiction, so enjoy it with the innocence of a child and take from it the goodness.

The true Jews are still here. Those who believe and faithful have nothing to fear. God loves them. These thoughts on salvation are designed to lead the unsure mind towards what Jesus offers having taken up His path wthout straying. Don't concern yourself over others salvation, they will find God. Consider your direct relationship with God above all else, bring your mind back to God.

Greetings!

You may wish to examine other faith traditions--some of which explicitly accept Christ and the Bible, please note!--by way of comparison, because there are religions out there that present a coherent, unified picture of the teachings sent by God without the confusion and contradiction you seem to find in the Bible itself.

Best regards, :)

Assuming, for the moment, the monsterous absurdity that there actually is one right religion, how do you suppose you would be able to tell which religion that was?

Look at the religion that most people love to hate - the one that generates the most questions and which answers very view accept.
Then ask yourself: Why is it so?
Then investigate from all angles - watch out for the "human"side of it and go
spiritual - by finding the God of the religion and not the religion of the gods.
Blessings to you

hmm.. confused about the right things.. which one is the right one.. and what about others..
I guess.. the right one is only ONE.. no others..
And the TRUTH is the correct one, the right one.. the truth that cannot be denied by your heart.. the truth that touches your heart.. the divine feel
No one, no human, no anything, can do anything to the inside of your heart EXCEPT GOD.. the ONE who permeats feelings and senses in humans heart, which cannot be done by anything / anyone else except HIM.

Somehow, people, or probably we, always believe that what we have, or what we follow, is always true (the right one).. until something happen..something appears to be rejected by our feel / heart.. something that opposite and not in accordance with our known thoughts..

Then.. we'll start to have a sceptical thoughts about it.. and we'll start to find the truth (for those who want to find the truth). Or to some people, they will not bother of anything but only of what they had followed.. or probably to some other people, they forced themselves to follow of what they have or have been thought.

So, to my opinion, what is the right one.. is a matter of individual's finding.. for me my believe and for U your believe.. And here, what I believe is.. the true / right path brings U to the ONE and only GOD, the false path brings U to the other things other than GOD.. and all our physical action are by our spiritual intentions.. for every action, it must begin with the intentions.. and that intentions.. who made it appear in our heart and mind.. its the Divine job / actions..the one whose all hearts are worship to

and who / what is the TRUTH.. the GOD..?.. is for us to find HIM.. I believe HE exist in one of so many religion and thoughts

Well, believing that every religion is right has you on the right path, at least. The first thing you need to understand is that every religion IS right, for the person who believes in it.

As was said before, you need to not worry about a religion being right or wrong to a member of another religion, and instead focus on what's right for you.

How to find what's right for you? Listen to yourself. Sit quietly and reflect on it a while. Your heart knows which path is the one for you, all you have to do is follow it.

Pick a religion that appeals to you, and live it out as best you can. Over time, you'll figure out if it's "the true one." Just don't delude yourself into thinking you'll find perfection, even if you find "the true one." Part of being "true" will be being "human," with all that entails.

You know, you can save a lot of time and just skip all of this theology, and go straight into philosophy.

The proof is in the pudding. (Meaning if it comes out right, you must have fillowed the right recipe)

If you think you can make chocolate chip cookies with raisins, then you will buy into the "all religions are right" theory. Isaac Newton says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So much for not believing in duality. (Good vs Evil)

The truth is that if you wish to have spiritual life, then Jesus is the only way to achieve that. However you could try out some works based religions to build up your frustration level so that you can appreciate Jesus more.

God speaks the truth. How can you know that? Because He died for you.

They will happen. Already the prophecy that the Jews would return to their homeland has been fulfilled.

He can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved without subverting his will and He does not wish to do that.
