In philosophical terms, Truth is knowledge that will always be accurate.
Religions can keep people happy, one of the central and most profound messages of the movie The Matrix was the conflict between truth and ignorance. In the movie the main protagonist, who goes by Neo, is offered a red pill and a blue pill. If Neo took the red pill he would find out the truth of the world, if he took the blue he would remain in ignorance. It is later revealed in the film that one of the other characters had betrayed his friends in order to try to regain the bliss that was ignorance.
It seems to me that there are two main paths through life.
1) You take the comforting lies, you believe what you want to be true and you will (often violently) defend it.
2) You seek the truth, you will not be given any comfort or refuge from the harsh reality that is truth.
I choose the second but I understand (though do not agree) why many take the former.[/QUOTE
Well said. I definitely believe that I am presenting people with the red pill. My message is this: what you see is not Real. It is partially philosophical, partly sensorary representation of the Real, but definitely not Real. Sometimes, you hear a story from someone that is schizophrenic, and people have the tendency to laugh it off. But what IF the things they saw and experienced were closer to Reality, and the person who doesn't know Reality is YOU ? What if it is a message from God,but they don't the linguistic skills or the vocabulary to clearly and concisely give an explanation of what they saw ? Seems to me, you can gather a lot of useful information by listening to them and trying to understand what the message is. Of course it won't be easy, the only easy thing comes from hucksters and scam artists.
