What is your expectation of afterlife/being with god?

IMO, when your dead, that's it. There are many here that believe in afterlife or that they will be with god after they perish.
So what is the expectation that you have? What is "life" supposed to be like and what is actually happening during that time? Do you eat? Do you converse with everyone that makes it there? If everything is perfect, then is any other emotion but love present? Thoughts?

We know that certain stimuli to our brain releases endorphins a gives us an elated feeling.
When I eat a cheeseburger, watch my team score a touchdown, see my daughter succeed in school, exercise, etc. I get joy. Many get joy from doing different hobbies or past times, but if they are no longer in "heaven" or wherever, then what will bring the joy?

I have no expectations. IMO, the most likely thing is that our individuality dies, and our components become something else.

To me, it doesn't matter what happens after death; what matters is what happens during life.

if i die and end up somewhere. i just hope there's land to be bought and no cops.
if i get to hell i'm opening up a bar on mainstreet. and if you can prove to me you posted on RF you get the first round free.

it's unlikely, but a boy can dream.

haha, some of you took it funny! gee

What I know is that this life is just like school. When you do the right thing, you gunna get good grads and as a result you will get a great job and you will enjoy it. on the other hand. if you fail you gunna go worse and to a bad life. The same is what we r doing in the whole life. if we did good and treat people fairly, work honestly and so on. the result is the Heaven " every thing is there for free" and on the other hand, If we did the opposite, we gunna go to the hell ( we 'll get fired by fire haha).

Before I thought it comprehensible for the conscious to die, I use to believe in an afterlife....but not so much an earthly one or like the ones you see in so many of those abrahamic religions.

I don't where I got this but I use to have this huge belief or for a better word a want of belief that we get to be with the ones we loved. I never really envisioned anything earthly or physical so to speak. Still unsure why I was thinking what I did at the time. I guess I'm one of those people who get deeply attached to those I feel the closest to.

I am not planning to die soon so my expectations for after death are vague.

However I can tell you what happened after I died in my previous life. Since the end of my life was very traumatic, I went to Heaven for a rest from evil. There I met my future wife (current wife now) and God. After meeting my wife I decided to come to life on earth again to serve God and my wife decided to follow even though she had been in Heaven for a long time.

After death everyone either goes somewhere or stays where they are. My guess is that you would be reincarnated according to what you deserve. Since you don't appear to be real tight with God you will probably end up landless and poor with plenty of cops around.

It isn't likely that you would go to Hell yet but if you could, you would not be able to open up a bar. You can't create a bar out of fire.

Usually God will grant a person's wish to be close to the ones he loves provided the person has honored mother and father. Even without that I believe I know someone who got to come back to be with family members but without parents at an early age.

So in other words, bad people will always be reincarnated as bad people?

although i do like your school analogy, i always had a problem with my teachers telling me "do well in school and your life will go well!" because i knew that it wasn't that simple. you can work hard, study hard, get extra help, and even cheat and you could still manage to fail particular classes that are simply out of your skill-level or out of your interest-range. no matter how hard some people try, they cannot accept a religious viewpoint, no matter the reward. you can also go to school with a particular goal - daydream all day long about working in a particular field, take the right electives, choose the right college/grad school, graduate with honors and then find that the job market has changed, or that the field you wanted is flooded with other applicants just as qualified as you. how can one be totally sure which religious track with get them a seat in the big-house? also much like religion, it doesn't matter how smart you are, it matters how compliant you are with your teacher's ego or with the potentially out-dated curriculum. not to mention enough disciplinary infractions (even those which have nothing to do with learning) can effect when you graduate and what it says on your permanent record. so if life is like school, i think i'm already kicked out.

so because i'm not close personal friends with one guy in the whole universe i should expect to have my few humble requests denied in big bold letters? i'm sorry you had to meet this guy in between lives, sounds like a real stick in the mud.

you only say that because you havn't tried.

and let the record show, naysayers do NOT get their first drink free, no matter how many posts they have. :D

Hopefuly when I die my dead body decomposes, except for whatever organs may be transplanted or used in some other way.

Even more hopefully I will have made a positive difference while I was alive. That is very much all I hope for or expect.
