What Keeps You Coming Back to RF?

Cool people, interesting discussion and my power has been out 4 days and I have no TV.

Just kidding. Not about no power but about the reason I come back.
I also come back because of the cool people and the interesting discussion.
How can you post things with no power? I guess you are using a tablet or a cell phone. I have no tablet and I don't ever write posts on my cell phone. I always use a laptop, and if my power goes out my Wifi goes out so I cannot read or post anything.

It is a journal, and one of many. It is a place where I can archive my spiritual/ religious thoughts in a certain point in time. Then, someday, as I already do now, I can look back and see how far I’ve come.

I only have a phone for everything I do. This one is 5G so actually works in the woods with no power. And I have a generator that works when it will start. So I can charge then. I really have everything except an oven. So feel extremely lucky. It's cold as Canada right now so I feel bad for those not so fortunate. Tuesday they say the power will return. Hope so, can't run my vaccuum. Horrors!

Seriously keep thinking of Ukrainians right now.
Have a nice day. I'm talking a rest before the next Christmas gathering of the day.

Did your coons return? They are so destructive and aggressive, but the cutest critters ever. You do well to keep them fed and not attacking you. I'd be scared to have them about any more than they are. And they are so clever at getting into bird feeders if you don't have the right one. Even then they sometimes figure out how to get a feeder down and haul it off. Stinkers.

Enjoy your cats. Im almost ready to get another one. They are fun and good companionship.

I don't know anything about 5G, although I see all the commercials constantly on TV. I have xfinitymobile and an iPhone so I could have 5G if I wanted it. My new wannbe boyfriend lives on BLM-managed public land out of a vehicle and he charges his cell phone and his radio with a charger that uses the sun. That would not work here since there is no sun for most of the year, but he is down in the southwest corner of Utah where it is sunny most of the time.

I never run a vacuum so it makes no difference to me. :D

Thanks. I am having no gathering, it is just me myself and I, and the eight cats who are all sleeping right now.

No, my large gang of coons never returned, but there are a couple who still come around at night. I wonder if the rest are hibernating. It is really weird to look out on the deck in the daytime and see all the food and no raccoons.
During the summer the coons would knock the bird feeders down if they could reach them. Now I have hung them all out of reach.

Yes, the cats are my constant companions. So you will now have more than one?

My reason for not vacuuming is because the carpets were treated by Fleabusters a long time ago in order to prevent and kill fleas. Ever since that time I have not seen one flea, so I am not taking any chances of having fleas since I have had serious problems with fleas in the past. Besides, who cares what the carpet looks like, nobody ever sees it except me and the cats. :D

I don't even own a vacuum. Sarama(brown dog) chewed up the cord.

It isn't a big deal, really. In the whole house, there's only two area rugs. We just sweep them onto the wood floor, and then sweep that up with the rest of the floor.

My reason for not vacuuming as often is the cats. They don't like the vacuum so I wait until they are outside.
Yes, that is very common with cats. Two of our last three cats fled in terror when the vacuum cleaner was run in the house. Amazingly one of the cats was calm when we ran the vacuum. We don't have outside cats, so my wife sometimes took them to her bed and covered the cat with a blanket and comforted them while the vacuum cleaner was running.

I have so many vacuum cleaners they are coming out of my ears. In fact, I have at least three or four brand new vacuum cleaners that have never been used, and they are still in their boxes.

That sounds really good. About half of the upstairs, which is the only part of the house that I use, is tile and the other half is carpet. When we first moved here the cats messed up the carpet so it is a lost cause, and I have it covered with carpet runners and throws I bought at Goodwill. I doubt it could ever be cleaned, even professionally.
