What kind of car(s) do you drive and why?

Subaru Crosstrek.

All wheel drive, excellent in snow and ice, comfortable, good though not amazing mpg, and exceptional longevity*.

It's paid off and has very low mileage.

I had a Forester before that finally expired at 180K miles, after being passed on to a young relative.

(*That's Subarus in general not this particular car, yet).

For my main vehicle, a 2022 Toyota Camry SE Hybrid black (of course). Plenty of space to take the dogs for a ride. I love Toyotas. I may get a fully electric car one day. I've mostly had Camrys or Corollas over the past 25 years.

My work truck is a 2017 Chevy Silverado. I bought it cheap at an auction in 2018. I only use it when I really need it. On occasion, it's useful for various duties and towing around.

A few years back I bought a Dodge Challenger. I sold it after a couple years. It was taking up space and eating up income. :p

When I'm not driving I'm riding a motorcycle or bicycle.

2011 Audi A4 Quattro Avant and 1987 Porsche 928S4

I have been driving Audi's since 1984. I can do my own repair and maintenance, and recently replaced the fuel pump, filter, and module. I've mostly bought wagons for the space and utility. I really like the reliability and especially the 4-wheel drive system, which Audi was among the first companies to develop 4-wheel drive for their customers in the early 1980's. It's fun to drive when it snows, and I can speed through hilly neighborhoods because there are few other cars and no cops.
I thought about getting an A4 but I like my car too much. I did find a 2023 Audi A5 convertible for my MIL. It's on order. She's always wanted a convertible. That's great that you can do your own maintenance.

A Toyota Camry, an '07 but low mileage on it. Hoping to get many more. It runs great.
What color? Hubby's previous car was a dark grey '07 Camry. Great car! We gave it to a friend who named it Black Camary. I guess Black Canary is a superhero?

I had an '01 Forester and a '10 Forester. I loved both and cried when I traded them in. The sales people said that happens a lot.

Can't really beat Toyotas, but I wish navigation was standard, as well as safety features. My FIL bought a Challenger in April 2021, but passed away August 2021 so he didn't get to enjoy it as much as he would have wanted. MIL called it "the vroom vroom car."

A Skoda because it gets me from A to B. Second one I've had, cos I hate having to learn where all the buttons and switches are. Will probably keep it till we all have to go around on driverless electric bicycles.

This might have been asked before but I love cars, so I wanted to ask. Also, do you name your cars?

I have a red 2017 Subaru Outback. Hubby has a dark gray 2015 Lexus ES350. They are both reliable, get fairly good gas mileage, are good in crash tests and are comfortable to drive. I chose both cars and hubby is ecstatic about his Lexie, although her real name is Andromeda. Mine is named Sheila. Can you guess why?
Chrysler Town Car.

1) - Right price
2) - fits our grandchildren when they are with us
3) - Can fold the seats for space when we need to move things.

Never heard of that. What country does it come from?

It's Czech, now part of the VW Group. I used to buy VWs but Skoda are basically VWs without paying extra for the label. :)

"Škoda Auto a.s. is a Czech automobile manufacturer established in 1925. After 1991, it was gradually privatized to the German Volkswagen Group, becoming a partial subsidiary in 1994 and a wholly owned subsidiary in 2000. Škoda automobiles are sold in over 100 countriies. As of 2017, Škoda's profit margin was the second highest of all Volkswagen AG brands after Porsche."

Originally from communist Europe . There used to be a joke, why do Skoda have heated rear windows. Answer, to keep your hands warm when you are pushing them.

After the wall came down and VW took them over, they are now a pretty good car closely based in the VW range. They are the official car of the tour de France bike race.

They used to be everywhere. Vans are not as popular as years ago. I wonder why? I think they get better gas mileage than the behemoth SUVs people drive now.

Forgotten about them! Dear god.

When i was a kid my dad bought one for my mom... She was over the moon about it until she tried to drive it. I don't know why but he had cold shoulder for dinner for a fortnight.
