What Makes a Pagan?

GoodbyeDave

Think of the Gods as respected spiritual beings. They can be former ancestors, spirits indwelling in natural objects, or neither of those. The Japanese kami and Chinese shen are terms that can be applied to all spirits: we all become kami or shen when we die. In Hellenism we use different terms - Gods, Daimones, Heroes, Ancestors - but all are venerated. So, from a pagan point of view, you do have Gods.

I am not Christian no, so would it be possible that you relate to the black pagan woman on the pagan forum site this point, the Kiowa Apache or Crow or Mescalero Apache or in deed any of the First Nations are not pagan they have no white breaded, white robed , colossal height white man as their god as Zeus, Apollo or Hades, thee name pagan as you will know was given to the non believers of Christian faith during the Christian persecutions, the conquistadors, the pilgrims or even settlers to the Indians who condemned the Indian as savage, in truth the name pagan belongs to the believers of the gods and goddesses of Greece and Rome (eastern Europe) not to the pre Christian, pre Latino, pre Hispanic pre settlers , pre pilgrim America(s) so that means the bone carved choker and any such likes plains Indian symbolization made of bone which caused the confusion of been seen as pagan are not pagan symbols , I know some of you know of this black pagan on the pagan site woman slowly gathering clout and not knowing enough while say ****, American (s) Indian religions are not pagan.

What makes a pagan, that response is not exactly correct, form text: After Zeus, Hades and Apollo was defeated by another Greek god which I shall name, that Greek god named the remainders of his followers Pagans, the name pagan then became a generic term for all non believers of the Christian faith given to them by the Christian church, if you read the catechism of the catholic teaches you will find a quote one of their compendium of works which reads as follows: The gates of Hades will not prevail, many of you will be familiar with the unabridged works of Sir James Frazer the theologian entitled the Golden Bough, it is is a comprehensive and detailed account of how the Catholic church incorporated Greek pagan dates and practises to win them over to the church , there are extensive works on the subject I'm sure you all know. in truth the name pagan only applies to a certain type of religious practise which excludes Zeus Hades and Apollo and the unnamed god which defeated them.
