Can't brain. Has dumb.
Just Googled it. Sounds pretty good. thanks for the tip Methylated.

It's a bit arthouse

Best to watch it more than once

I personally found the blurb was a bit misleading, and I didn't agree with it.

I saw it with 2 other people, and we each had very different impressions on what it was actually about. Very well done, and great to watch with friends and talk about after. (Don't talk through it, you'll likely miss important things :p)

See now, that's probably part of the reason I liked it so much. The twist I wasn't expecting. The moment when it hits you what he really is and the link between the two. I loved it. I like a movie that gives you just enough to be interested in the previews but leaves the really good stuff to be revealed as a complete surprise. The stuff that makes you go "OH...I know! I got it now!" :D

The twist was rubbish - it came out of nowhere (no hint of this prior to it appearing), it invalidated the initial premise, and was introduced in order to make the rubbish ending flimsily plausible.

Wow, I don't think it is even possible for me to convey with mere words just how much I totally disagree with you on this. And it wouldn't be a "twist" if it didn't "come out of nowhere"...that's the whole purpose of a twist...to catch off-gaurd and give an entirely different meaning to what you think you already know. Hancock was terrific. A real engaging movie with a lot more behind it than just superhero antics. A must see.

On the contrary, the best twist is one that is hinted multiple times in the narrative, but you don't even suspect that it is coming at all. In contrast, I put up The Sixth Sense as an example of a good twist - there are so many small hints in that movie that says something is wrong with our understanding of the situation, but we keep ignore those hints until the twist is given to us directly.

Thanks for the tips everybody, For tonight I just decided on this;

Defiance (2008)

I started reading a book about the Bielski brothers a few months ago and I kpt thinking, "why hasn't anybody made a movie about these guys"?

Well, here it is. :clap

Just finished watching it (also went back and read the rest of the book this week).

Good movie, great story. Hollywood took a few liberties with the facts, but no more than what you would expect.
