What music soothes your savage beast?

When I get irritated with the world in general, especially the news I have to play some music to help me back into a good mood. Sometimes I play happy classic rock or oldies or Old-time gospel and other times I am so mad I have to play my Celtic Harp CDs from Patrick Ball (I have 5, including a Christmas CD). Other times only classical (especially Mozart) will help.
(When I am depressed I can only listen to fast rock music, slow music irritates me then, LOL)

What kinds of music helps when you are in a bad mood?

When I'm angry at the world then I need angry music.

If I'm just feeling down or disconnected then I listen to more soothing music but not really upbeat stuff.

Here is an example of the latter (youtube video): Green Carnation - Maybe? Not sure whether I prefer this or the studio version.

Can't brain. Has dumb.
I'm with Fluffy on that. I was REALLY angry the other day - can't remember why - so I jumped on RF and cranked up some Opeth and Nightwish really loudly.

I was fine about 10 mins later, back to me happy old self.

(But that could be the fault of RF - not necessarily the music :p)

I was going to post a Opeth track as well but they don't have any that I think are good enough on Youtube :(. If you like Opeth, you should check out Green Carnation :).

ok, will do! (If I cn find any here, that is)

But yeah, Regarding getting angry with the world, the best way is to fight fire with fire!

I gotta go with Fluffy and Methalaytedghosts. For some reason loud, high energy music sooths the savage beast within me.

Three albums I find myself running to in those savage times are Metallica: Ride The Lightning, Pantera: Great Southern Trendkill and Slayer: Diablos In Musica.....in that order.

The Beatles' song Helter Skelter has a soothing effect on me when I am agitated, believe it or not. ;)

How can this song not put anyone in a good mood? Or in a mood to fight the good fight? I also took the time to to type this song straight from memory, and provide a youtube to link because it is such a holy song that was inspired directly by the most highest powers of Metal that be, that the most high prophets of Metal, Megadeth should sing these most holy of lyrics and instrumental lines to us.

Megadeth - Peace Sells

What do you mean I don't believe in God?
I talk to him everyday.
What do you mean I don't support your system?
I go to court when I have to.
What do you mean I can't get to work on time?
Got nothin' better to do.
What do you mean I don't pay my bills?
Why do think I'm always broke?
Huh?

If theres a new way.
I'll be the first in line.
Well it better work this time.

What do you mean I hurt your feelings?
I didn't know you had any feelings.
What do you mean I ain't kind?
Just not your kind.
What do you mean I couldn't be the President? Of the United States of America?
Tell you something. It's still "We the people" right?

If there's a new way.
I'll be the first in line.
Well it better work this time.

You put a price on peace?......

Peace
Peace sells......
Peace
Peace seeeeeeeeeaaaaaalllllllllllsss!!!!!!
Peace sells, but who's buyin'?
Peace sells, but whose buyin'?
Peace sell, but whose buyin'?
Peace sells, but whose buyin'?

Truly, there is not one group, or person, more holy, sacred, or divine than Megadeth! :jam:

High Uplifting vocal trance, with a girl singing in sweet high notes. Very Much like Andrea Brittan, Kirtsy Hawkshaw. So music from Delerium and DT 8 project.

When I'm super irritated and need to quickly jumpstart my mood, I listen to the Clash or Motley Crue, they always make me excited and happy. Every other down-ish mood calls for lots and lots of good ol' Johnny Cash.

.

I like Johnny Cash, my favorite is Folsom Prison Blues. That is a great song to chase the blues away. ;) (No matter how bad I have it, I know that there is someone who has it worse).
