What music soothes your savage beast?

When I need to get up and moving I will put on something like Hed(PE), or even Slipknot, kind of hip/hop with rock(Rapcore), and when I need to relax, Eric Clapton.

What kinds of music helps when you are in a bad mood?
If I'm in an angry sort of bad mood, I need something fast and fun to jump around to....like old skool Offspring, Green Day, Beck, or music with rough guitars or great drums such as Audioslave or Tool.

If I'm in a sad, bad mood I like Coldplay, U2 or some of the more whiny/angsty groups. But, no Radiohead. bleh.

Billie Holiday. No matter how upsetting of a day one has had, no one has had it worse than Billie.

Either something super heavy and angry or melodic and melancholy. Just somehow metal. Of course, the music I crave when I'm in a bad mood is still the music I love when I'm in a good mood. Maybe it's 'cause I'm an angry person. :D

I still can't get over how freaking awesome the newest DevilDriver CD is and I've had it for months! :D DevilDriver is probably my favorite band, so I reach for their music a lot. Probably my favorite from The Last Kind Words:

YouTube - Devildriver - The Axe Shall Fall
Some may not like some of the language.

I have relaxing songs. A few Blue October songs like 18th Floor Balcony, Black Orchard, Weight Of The world. Also by The Spill Canvas: The Tide, Black Dresses, Dutch Courage, Bracelets.
My happy song is Stereophonics - Have A Nice Day. If I am listening to that it means there is something wrong.

Children of Bodom's "Angels Don't Kill" and "Everytime I die" has a history of putting me in a better mood when my spirits are down.

Certain bands' music is what I've got to have. Pretty much any mood I have I can listen to anything by NIN and I'm right as rain. In a good mood anyway? NIN or Queen. I'm a big fan of both those bands. Can listen to both of them all day long. There is just something about the flow and beat of their respective music and the voices of Trent Reznor and Freddie Mercury that just cut through me.

The calmer songs by Filter... no one's ever heard of them, but they're freakin' fantastic. The few people who've heard of Filter tend to call them the 'Take a Picture' band. It's probably their most famous song and one of my personal favourites. It's very calming.

I prefer their older, harder stuff myself. But the softer stuff isn't bad, either.
