Zoroastrianism? Noahide? Vaisnavism? I still, of course, strongly recommend Orthodox Christianity though ;) That is, in my opinion, the 'true' faith; but this is your journey and it may take you a while. I've flip-flopped a lot too.

Many religions don't believe in Jesus, so you have left quite a few options there. Do you have any other beliefs or non-beliefs that might help us help you in your quest?

God but not Jesus....God but not Jesus.... Very tricky. I'm not sure any religions like that exist, my friend! :D Well maybe there are a few.

Belief in God excludes you from the following:
Buddhism
Greek-type religions such as in our Neo-Pagan Revival area
Animism
most of the religions in our 'Indiginous' group. Native American and Middle Eastern are probably exceptions.
Confucianism -- (I think. Maybe.)
non-Theistic Satanism
Luciferianism
Setianism probably. Not sure.

God without Jesus possibilities:
Gnostic Christianity
Quaker -- can be a Quaker though most Quakers believe in Jesus.
Universalism
Judaism: Conservative, Reform, Archaic, Orthodox, Hasidic
Deism
Islam
Taoism
Hindu - some varieties not all varieties. See Hindu DIR sticky.
Possibly some indigenous religions

Welcome to RF.

Ive not got much to offer to the question. Personally, I am the agnostic deist type. From your OP it would seem that you are also. But who knows.
I don't understand how people can find religious beliefs optional. I sometimes get the impression that people see them like a fashion accessory. I don't understand that attitude. I am not able to be other than what I am.

Thank you for recommendations.Isnt Orthodox Christianity still around Jesus?
It is, but I can recommend nothing other. However, since you are probably tired of hearing about Christianity and such, I will just leave it here for you to consider. By the way, if you have grown up in Protestant country, then Orthodoxy will seem like a different world to you :)

You are whatever you will to be. You might worship YHVH as other Abrahamists do in their religions, or you might integrate into your own spiritual-religious system culture from other religions that strengthen your connection to YHVH and help you experience whatever life or destiny it is you will to experience. Judaism and Islam might be worth looking into... but do not underestimate the strength, power, wisdom and beauty that can be found in other religions, Abrahamic or otherwise -which, contrary to popular belief- often need not interfere with your belief in or worship of YHVH.

There are many gods in early Buddhism but you're not required to believe in any of them. They're not the pinnacle of existence, nor do they possess any innate authority over humans.

It depends on what else you accept.

Monotheism
Islam (accept the Quran), Baha'i (accept the teachings of Baha'u'llah), Sikhism (accept the Granth), or Unitarianism (believe what you like!)

Pagan or polytheist religions
There is no reason why a pagan cannot accept a supreme being: Hindus do, as do probably all African pagans, and as did ancient Greeks like Socrates and Plato. Modern Chinese generally don't, although they used to. Japanese don't. Neopagans (Wiccans and Druids, etc) may or may not. But no pagan religion has a creed that you have to sign up to, like Christianity. If a Japanese believed in a creator, no-one could say "Shame on you! That's not proper Shinto."

So basically, anything bar Christianity!

Hi Didgeridoo,

This does leave you with a very wide array of possibilities. If you don't believe Jesus is God, then I think that only excludes Christianity. There are many other religions in the world to choose from: Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Daoism, Sikhism, Unitarian Universalism, Zoroastrianism, and many more. Perhaps Bahai (I'm not sure if they believe Jesus is God as Christians do, or if they believe him to just be a prophet like in Islam). Perhaps one or more of the many, many pagan religions of the world (if you are amenable to multiple gods).

Perhaps if you specified more about what you are looking to find or get out of religion, we could help you narrow it down further.

P.S. I disagree with Brickjevity on excluding Buddhism. Buddhism is not centered around a God or gods, but it does not reject belief in God or gods either (in fact, most Buddhists in the world are probably theists). So it is definitely compatible with theistic beliefs.

Gnostic Christianity includes Jesus. Hence the name.
True.
Maybe its not the same thing as what our poster is talking about though -- believing in Jesus. There's believing in the physical Jesus and then there's believing in Jesus like the gnostics. Perhaps the gnostic belief in Jesus isn't the same as what our poster is talking about not believing in.

If I go to gotquestions dot org for example (although they aren't the best source for info), they say "The Person of Jesus Christ is another area where Christianity and Gnosticism drastically differ. The Gnostics believe that Jesus’ physical body was not real, but only “seemed” to be physical, and that His spirit descended upon Him at His baptism, but left Him just before His crucifixion."

We'll leave the OP to his own understanding :)

Why pick one religion - you can just be about God and let that journey take whatever form it will without labeling it.

Having aaid that: Islam (e.g. Sufism or Ismailism or one of the "modern" liberal movements), Judaism, many Hindu traditions, Baha'i, Rasta, Zoroastrianism, many Pagan groups, and many Buddhist and Daoist traditions that may oe may not use the language of God but are still on the same deal.
