Greetings

Other that your own, of course. I am fascinated by a lot of religions, but most of all Judaism and Native American spirituality.

Just the idea of religion fascinates me. I find every aspect of belief that I dont hold myself to be fascinating to study. Obviously I study my own aspects very thoroughly, but naturally people feel differently to me and their approach to religion.

If I had to pick one organised religion... I'd probably have to say Islam just because their beliefs are the most far away from what I believe. My interest in the religions of the world branch into every aspect of spirituality though.

Any path to Ourd is worth studying in my opinion, but any religion that has an effect on people's lives is fascinating to me, especially in a psychological way.

Probably Mormonism, as a great example of how a weird con can transform into a major religion. Scientology is even weirder, but hasn't made it as big yet.

scientology owes a lot to modern western occultism, crowley and modern hermeticism.....

Can you translate for the ignorant(AKA me)?

Austin Osman Spare (30 December 1886 - 15 May 1956) was an English artist who developed idiosyncratic magical techniques including automatic writing, automatic drawing and sigilization based on his theories of the relationship between the conscious and unconscious self. His artistic work is characterized by skilled draughtsmanship exhibiting a complete mastery of the use of the line, and often employs monstrous or fantastic magical and sexual imagery....

..............

Spare employed clay pots which he buried in a ritual process, instead of women... (the clay pots were "filled)

as detailed in
modern_sex_magick.jpg

Of course I do personally enjoy the music of throbbign gristle

281cover.jpg

who's lead singer created the temple of psychic youth.... although he disowned it... which employed chaos magic

Modern examples of Spare's works can be seen ont he cover of extreme doom metal group Khanate:

khanate.jpg

The white writing forms the word Khanate and employes spare's techniques...

..

Chaos magic itself is essentially just an update and one of the numerous off shoots of thelema (greek for will) the religion formed by Alesteir Crowley.

Of course Chaos magic's main selling poinnt is it does away with a lot of the arcane ritualism of magick, of course others such as WG Gray already did away with such things....

But I am not an authority on chaos magick

Ourd????

:sarcastic

Any religion that allows you to connect to your spiritual self; to acheive a state of spiritual connection (with God, if that's what you believe) is worth studying...

Sorry about the terminology, I sometimes forget that people have no idea what i'm blabbering on about half the time haha

Atheism. How can one live a life that has no meaning? It's very confusing to me.

If you actually found it fascinating, you would have done some research on it. But your ignorant statement makes it obvious that you haven't. What I find confusing is the notion that value and meaning require some sort of invisible sky daddy for some reason.

Any, regarding the OP I tend to find various forms of Buddhism and shamanism fascinating.

Well the OP states, "Other than your own" (with the spelling correction) but what I feel is that it really cannot be my own "religion". It has been difficult for me to put into words the ways I am finding work for me. I am finding that there are organized religions with key elements of rules, guidelines, traditions and rituals that I find absolutely absurd, and then other elements I find I can live by and use. I cannot say I belong to any one religion in its entirety because I can find things in each of them that I do not believe. I guess I am a wanderer of sorts, but they all fascinate me, including atheism. I see myself learning more about all of them. I cannot wrap my head around the idea that there is just one "correct" religion and if I dont pick one, or the "correct one", that I am wrong at the end. I feel that whatever works for every individual when it comes to having a good personal relationship with spirituality, or the world, is the best and only way we can live harmoniously on this earth as we wait to eventually find out the truth.

Hm? The logical extreme of Atheism is either "I only have so much time to live, so I should do what I want and noone else matters except those I care about." or "I only have so much time to live, so nothing I do will have any significance, because human life is an accident and doesn't contribute anything to the great cosmos." Both are equally scary thoughts in my mind.

You're right. You're quite confused. Maybe you should ask some atheists here whether that is our logic, rather than telling us what our logic is. Alternatively, if you believe that necessarily follows from a disbelief in God, maybe you should demonstrate or support your assertion. Would you like to start a thread on the subject?

The more lighthearted religions tend to interest me, after a while you can get bored of all the smiting and suffering that many religions tend to enjoy. For this reason I would say Discordianism currently interests me the most.

well connection or joining, there is a vast difference....

For example it is really easy to communicate with a non corporeal being...

amazingly easy....

but that is not the same as joining with god or union.

Although i realise I shouldnt cast pearls before swine... although I do often ha ha

It is my firm belief, that it is dangerous to hold firm beliefs
