What religion would you be if you weren't following your current one?

I would be a non theistic satanist. I dig the whole thing about Sagan being a symbol of rebellion and I see the appeal of using no discipline whatsoever and engaging in all our 'natural' desires

Eastern Orthodox Christianity looks cool. Actually if i wasn't following this one i'd probably be an atheist.

I'll leave to one side other Christian denominations...

I could see myself being a follower of Vaishnavism, Jainism or Buddhism.

Because of my belief in God, probably Vaishnava Hinduism before the others.

Atheistic LHP is a distant cousin of my current beliefs. But if I were to try something new, I suspect Buddhism may be interesting. The pursuit of inner peace would be very welcome.

This is mostly correct, but discipline is required, because reckless behavior only lands a person in jail or worse. A lot of study goes into how to get what we want ethically and lawfully.

As for me, I think I would just become a bacon-eating Jew. :D

For me, I would be either a Sikh or Shri Vaishnava, most definitely. Though, I'm growing increasingly more partial to the latter.

You have to ask?

Anything as opposite as possible to Islam. I'd be able to do stuff I couldn't do as a Muslim.

Don't count on it. Sometimes people do the wrong, knowing it is wrong, depending on how many and how heavy defense lines are there. One less defense like, one step closer to it ;)

Actions still have real world consequences, regardless of whether or not one believes in magical consequences.

Implying atheists lack a conscience and the ability to reason.
Nope, I'm implying they don't follow the many restrictions I have to follow. But I guess you do have a point. My choice of words was bad. I'll edit it, sorry about that.

I know. I didn't say I'm not willing to deal with consequences... if I convert, that is.
