Yes, when Jesus spoke to the people, He only claimed to be a Son of GOD.
Well, if Jesus is a Son of GOD, would be reasonable to assume that He is also GOD?
John 10.30
30."
I and the Father are One."
John 12.45
45.”
And whoever sees Me, sees Him Who sent Me.”
John 14.11
11."Believe Me that
I am in the Father and the Father in Me, otherwise believe on account of the works themselves."
But at the same time Jesus also always put His Father higher than Himself, and here is nothing extraordinary, because even on Earth the father always higher than his son.
John 14.28
28."You heard that I said to you, 'I go away and I will come to you.' If you love Me, you would have rejoiced, because I go to the Father,
the Father is greater than I."
So at least, according to these verses, Jesus indeed claimed that He is GOD by making Himself equal GOD with His Father.
Concerning His reward, it is written:
Isaiah 53.12
12.Therefore
, I will allot Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the booty with the strong, because He poured out Himself to
death, and was numbered with the transgressors (Mark 15.28) (Luke 22.37), yet He Himself bore the
sin of many, and interceded for the transgressors.'
Colossians 1.18
18.He is also Head of the body, the church, and He is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, so that
He Himself might come to have first place in everything.
Isaiah 53.10-12
10.But the Lord was pleased to crush Him (Zechariah 13.7) (Matthew 26.31) (Mark 14.27), putting Him to grief if He would render Himself as a
Guilt Offering (Isaiah 53.10) (Romans 8.3) (Ephesians 5.2) (1John 4.10).
He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, and the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His land (Isaiah 53.10) (Ephesians 5.2) (1John 4.10).
11.As a result of the anguish of His
Soul He will see it and be satisfied. By His
knowledge the
Righteous One, My
Servant, will justify the many as He will bear their iniquities.
