What was the best date you ever went on?

What made it special?

Where did you go?

What did you do?

How well did you know your date before you went on the date?

What did you learn about your date?

What did you learn about yourself?

What, if anything, would you change about the date?

Did you date the person again?

Did you marry the person?

Sunstone asks: What was the best date you ever went on?
The year was 1997 it was with my band’s keyboardist’s sister.
Sunstone asks: What made it special?
Mostly, she did. She was a class act.
Sunstone asks: Where did you go?
A limousine was supposed to pick us up and bring us to a romantic dinner (no dessert) and then to Manhatten to see the Broadway production of Les Miserables. She wasn’t feeling well so we had to skip dinner.
Sunstone asks: What did you do?
It’s none of your business! I know how your mind operates and I refuse to become idea fodder for one of your exotic threads.
Sunstone asks: How well did you know your date before you went on the date?
About 7 years. We attended movies and family gatherings more closely towards the last two years.
Sunstone asks: What did you learn about your date?
She still didn’t kiss after the 15th date and that she felt a bit uncomfortable about someone spending a great deal of money on her.
Sunstone asks: What did you learn about yourself?
I like Broadway plays and that you don’t really need to spend a great deal of money to have a good time.
Sunstone asks: What, if anything, would you change about the date?
I should have worn my red tie instead of the blue striped one.
Sunstone asks: Did you date the person again?
For awhile, she lived in
Allentown, PA and I (as well as her parents) lived in upstate NY. She was concerned that I would not be interested in traveling all that distance for a relationship and all I wished is that she would have brought her concerns to me.
Sunstone asks: Did you marry the person?
No, (much to mine and her family’s regret) when I asked her brother how she was doing one time and he mentioned that she got married, I noticed that he didn’t seem too pleased with her choice of marriage mates. When I asked him why he thought she had chosen poorly he mentioned that she wished she had married me instead. I’ll take that as a compliment.

What was the best date you ever went on? Tough call! My husband always was spectacular at planning dates, both before and after we were married. I'm voting for this Mother's Day.

What made it special?
I felt very appreciated as a wife and a mother. It really means a lot to me that after being married for almost three years, my husband still courts me.

Where did you go?
We stayed home.

What did you do?
After putting our daughter to bed, we had our date. My husband is a really amazing chef. He baked cod with a torilla chip crumb crust and a sour cream and salsa topping that was to die for, as well a tequilla laced mushroom quesadillas and homemade margaritas. He made corn with jalapeno essence that was really yummy. He followed that up with Godiva, from my daughter, and snuggling up on the couch watching a bunch of movies I really wanted to see. The next morning he brought me Starbucks coffee.

How well did you know your date before you went on the date?
We've been together for six years, so I'd better know him pretty well by now.

What did you learn about your date?
Just reaffirming that I am loved and appreciated.

What did you learn about yourself?
...

What, if anything, would you change about the date?
Absolutely nothing.

Did you date the person again?
I will.

Did you marry the person?
I did.

My first date with a girl (can't remember the date) called Pamela, who was a customer of the Bank at which I worked. She had been in one morning to cash a cheque, and there was something about her that made me go and look up her address and 'phone her.

What made it special?

The evening was just 'magic'; I shall never forget it. It was the first time I had been to a Pub in England, and had been invited to stay behind for a 'lock out' (A lock out is when they close the doors at closing time, and a few stay on behind still drinking, but not paying for the beer.

When I finally took her home, I stood on the porch, and kissed her. Somehow, I just couldn't stop, and she didn't seem to want me to. I can remember it as if it was yesterday; there were stars in the sky, it was a cold night.(I must have been there for at least half an hour). Talk about romance!!!
Where did you go?

To a Pub (bar) not far from where she lived.
What did you do?

Talked, talked, drank, talked.
How well did you know your date before you went on the date?

Not at all; just from that first time she came into the branch where I was a cashier, and from the 'phone call (I was astounded at her agreeing to go out).
What did you learn about your date?

That she was a lovely girl; he had had a hard time in life; had been engaged (on and off) to the same guy, and this was an 'off' period
What did you learn about yourself?

That I could be drunk under a table by a slip of a girl.:D (she introduced me to "Carsberg special" lager (Producer: Carlsberg-Tetley - www.carslberg.co.uk
ABV: 9.0% !!Country of Origin: Denmark) I'd forgotten how strong it was.

What, if anything, would you change about the date?

Nothing.
Did you date the person again?

Yes, on and off for a couple of years, bust mostly as 'just friends'
Did you marry the person?

No. Soon after I met her, she made it up with her fiance. But I saw her regularly until I got married.

My regret:- That I got hooked on "Carlsberg Special"..........:biglaugh:

What was the best date you ever went on?
It was Valentine's Day about two years ago.

What made it special?
It was Valentine's Day!

Where did you go?
We spent the whole night in the middle of the woods.

What did you do?
Had a little picnic, snuggled in a blanket among the trees, maybe got a little freak on ;)

How well did you know your date before you went on the date?
I had known her about two years prior.

What did you learn about your date?
She's very romantic and likes to get freaky in the woods!

What did you learn about yourself?
I'm very romantic and like to get freaky in the woods!

What, if anything, would you change about the date?
Nothing, except maybe the rain. It was February after all.

Did you date the person again?
Of course! Who wouldn't after that?

Did you marry the person?
Yep! I love her with all my heart. (Technically we're not married yet, w're just engaged, but its coming!)

What was the best date you ever went on?
Four of us went bowling. Me, my best friend, his girlfriend and her best friend. I was engaged at the time. I only went because my friends car was broke down and I love to bowl. Four of us in the front seats of an '88 mustang because I had speakers in the back seat that I refused to move. The mean part was that I made the girl I didnt know ride where the emergency brake used to be. Which in that car is in between the 2 front seats with a hard plastic casing. Not a comfy ride.

What made it special?
Nothing really seemed special about it at the time.

Where did you go?
Southgate bowling center.

What did you do?
We bowled. Me and the girl I didn't know spent the night ignoring each other, and when we did speak, it was nothing but rude comments. We hated each other. I even offered to pay for her bowling afterwards because I am a gentleman. She turned me down. Needless to say, I made sure on the ride home that I hit every bump in the road.

How well did you know your date before you went on the date?
Never met her before in my life.

What did you learn about your date?
That she was the stuck up prepy type. Only cared about herself and was too good for anybody.

What did you learn about yourself?
That when faced with a stuck up prep, I become an a*s. Arrogant, cocky and better than everyone around me.

What, if anything, would you change about the date?
Thinking back about it, I don't think I would change a thing. Except maybe a different shirt.

Did you date the person again?
Yes. I couldn't get her out of my head. Every waking moment she filled my thoughts. I only wanted to see her and be with her. I couldn't stop talking about her either. Which wasn't the best thing in the world being how the girl I was engaged to walked in on me at work one day while I was telling a co-worker about the girl I met bowling and how much I liked her.

Did you marry the person?
Yes I did. Just a few months later. June 30th will be 12 years. And I still can't get her out of my head.

What was the best date you ever went on?
*Happy Sigh* This past Tuesday (O6/06/06) with Dean, the singer of Psychotic 4

What made it special?
Just that it was with him </sappyness>

Where did you go?
It started off with him putting me on the guest list to the live interview and show his band was doing at Musique Plus, a live Music Channel in Montreal, then he took me to the afterparty set up by the station, then to a bar near his place and ended up with us cuddling in bed and passing out. (Didn't get any more salacious than simple cuddling, I swear).

What did you do?
See above. We just hung out, drank, met some other bands, talked, listened to music and cuddled :D *swoon*

How well did you know your date before you went on the date?
I've known him for about two months

What did you learn about your date?
That he's just as awesome as I always thought he was. And he's incredibly chivalrous and protective. Such a cutie.

What did you learn about yourself?
That I'm in love, hahahahaha. No, not there yet, but daaaaaaamn well close.

What, if anything, would you change about the date?
Absolutely, completely and utterly nothing.

Did you date the person again?
I haven't yet (it's only been 3 days), but I will.

Did you marry the person?
Nope. Again, it's only been 3 days.

What was the best date you ever went on? With a gorgeous Brazilian, several years younger than me, in Brazil, last year

What made it special? It simply felt magical, like something out of a movie

Where did you go? To a little outdoor restaurant/bar overlooking the Atlantic Ocean; live music was playing as we sat at a table literally inches from rocks leading down to the breaking surf below; a full moon was overhead, and cool ocean breezes swirled around us

What did you do? Talk, eat, stare at each other, kiss

How well did you know your date before you went on the date? Only a few days

What did you learn about your date?
That he was very intelligent, and a great kisser!

What did you learn about yourself? That I was capable of stupidly falling for a guy after just meeting him

What, if anything, would you change about the date? Nothing.....it was, as I said, magical

Did you date the person again? Sort of....we had a brief quasi-relationship, till I had to leave Brazil; he unfortunately turned out to be bad news in the end

Did you marry the person? As I said: he was bad news....so, obviously, no....what a pity, though, for he sure was sexy-sexy....*sigh*
