How would one look up such a thing? I only go back a couple of hundred posts when I looked up my posts...
If you said something unique, you could search for it, eg, "Poodookistan".
That country is rarely mentioned.

What? Me worry?
My first-ever post was challenging someone to a debate about the Trinity vs. Arianism. I literally joined this forum with the sole purpose of battling misconceptions about early Christian history and Trinitarian belief being propagated by Arians and Jehovah's Witnesses.

Yeah, I was a firecracker back then.

How'd that work out for ya...

For us old timers its hard to search that far back. It's over 12 years for me and lots of others have been here much longer.

The mind of a child was among the first handful though.

I actually remember that post, Paul. Vaguely, very vaguely, but still remember it. Jeebers! That takes me back.

It comes as no surprise to me that you would remember your first post. Your consistency is one reason I sleep well at night.

What was your first post? Was it calling someone an idiot? Was it a thread in which you said that all Jews are a member of a secret, shadowy organization?/QUOTE]
I don't remember, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't that one.

If you know the date you joined and the forum you probably posted in just travel back in that forum through the page numbers (page 1 of x, you can use the little arrows at the sides to quickly scan through) until you get to around that date. It'll show if you posted in a thread for that day.

Saw some posts from 2004.

(Did you want to know what's under the kilt?) Or maybe your first post is gone, because you did one of the things I mentioned above.
So, what was it?
The database does not go back far enough, however it was just before the Great Frubal Extinction. I believe that I was posting a discovery I had made about a new Masonic code word: 'Green Chair'.

This might sound incredible, but I actually posted one of the first jokes ever posted on RF. It could actually have been the very first intentionally posted joke, strange as that might sound.

When I joined in 2004, the forum was only a few months old and it was a very different place.

The forum was, of course, about religion -- but it was only about religion. And religion was taken very, very seriously. Grimly even. No one made any jokes about it. People's posts were unremittingly serious. There wasn't even a section for jokes back then.

One day, a month or two after I had joined, someone started a thread that turned into a debate over the morality or immorality of a proposed cable TV channel. That is, some group of investors back then were proposing to start an "all gay" TV channel, and that became the topic of debate.

After dozens of posts by various people, I decided to risk a corny joke. I said something about how the TV channel would destroy the sanctity of my TV viewing. Har Har!

Whether it was actually the very first joke told on RF or not, it was the first I had seen, and it was so novel at the time that two or three of the comments on it were to the effect that "the joke is permissible because it is relevant to the issue".

Those were funny days back then.

My first post was stupid. And, it seems I have followed suit ever since.

I don't know how smart you are -- I've never spent any time really thinking about that SW, so I just don't know.

But you strike me as a very decent person, a good person, and I'm glad you're here.

Smart people can be stupid. I do not know if stupid people can be smart. They can dress smart.

So, what was it?

It was this horribly formatted copy and paste from my own old website called Earthling. The post was called The Reality Of Hell

I think everyone who has ever read the bible, regardless of their religious affiliation, has an interpretation based on what they have read that will not mesh with other interpretations.
The way I see it, your religious identification is yours alone. I can't tell you what you see yourself as. So I would not dispute anyone calling themselves a Christian. However, I will have my own interpretation of the scripture and thus will have an arguable opinion about whether or not your core beliefs and actions are biblically supported.

I'm sort of an odd duck because I am an agnostic atheist who sees the bible as pushing a young earth creation narrative. I just also think that narrative is factually incorrect.

So to answer your unasked question: do I think you are a Christian? Yes, if that's how you self-identify. Do I think your interpretation of Christianity is compatible with the bible according to my interpretation? Probably not.
That was my first post here. These days I am much less sure about the narrative intent of the creation story, and much more apathetic about it.
