What were you born to do?

I was asking myself this question and I seriously have no idea. Some people know early on what they want to be when they grow up. I didn't. I joined the Navy instead. I'm now 4 years into my duty and still have no idea what I am meant to do with my life. I love Medical stuff, babies and children... helping people... but yet... I don't know what I am meant to do. I've been really thinking about it lately. I'm going to need to figure this out sooner or later. I don't want to be in the Navy my whole career.

So, my question to all of you... what do you think you were born to do? What do you enjoy doing the most? Are you like me, stuck and not sure where to go? Let's share experiences :)

I know I want to do something related to the environment, but I have so far gone in completely the wrong direction, so need to try and change paths.

If, I really could do anything then I would be in a band - I play fiddle, so would love to be able to just rely on that.

Through out the years I have changed my ideas from all of these:

Veterinarian
Singer
Pastry Chef
Cartoonist
Psychiatrist
Registered Nurse
Neonatal Nurse

The list goes on and on...

I did a degree that I really wasn't sure about, so I'd suggest not to get stuck with one thing. But, you can be a nurse and specialise later in neonatal care, whilst being a cartoonist, pastry chef and singer in your own time.

No need to always pick one option. If you love something, there are ways to get it.

I was born to worship the devil by playing satanic rock and roll music.
But as for a career, I'm still not 100% sure. I've been tossing around the idea of study and research, councilor, and even teaching. I want to do all three, and have no idea what to pick.

I was born to write. I've known that since I was in elementary school. Whether as a journalist of some sort, or a fiction writer, makes no difference to me. I was simply born to write.

I was born to eat, poop and sleep.

My priorities have changed since then, and are likely to continue to change.

You're suppose to do whatever you do. Don't stress about what and what you are not suppose to do, just live life to the full, even if you are doing something that you don't exactly enjoy, try and take out the negatives.

I don't think I'm particularly suited to any specific career. Currently I'm an engineer.

I challenge this thought on the basis that having an elderly population, that is usually infertile, is a beneficial thing for the human race. And of course there are always those that don't want kids.
