What will happen?

After watching as much of the news as I can tolerate, I wonder what will happen to us? I only have Internet news, No TV, No Cable. For me Fox is not news. I have been yelled at and told to purchase paper subscription of the NYT, or someone else. I do not know who? The BBC, owned by the Queen (???) does not seem to offer much council.

According to CNN, Barr is firmly a Trumper, or is it that the Republicans support Trump to their own destruction? This is confusing, so confusing.

At this time, it is unclear to me if America will exist as anything but a Police State in a Decade. By then perhaps I will be contemplating eternity.

Congress should initiate impeachment proceedings against Trump (opinion) - CNN

So the commode news network thinks Barr is firmly a Trumper. However I didn't hear a thing from them when Attorney General Holder said he was Obama's wing-man.
Of course we know where CNN's head was during those years.

"Attorney General Eric Holder brushed off a question Thursday about when he might leave the administration. Instead, the top lawman professed his allegiance to President Barack Obama.

"I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done. I’m still the President’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy. So we’ll see," Holder said in an interview on the Tom Joyner radio show."
Source is: Eric Holder: 'I'm still the president's wingman'

The bbc is technically owned by the people of britain. In reality it gets its revenue from charging every brit with a tv set an annual licence fee and from government funding.

Ah, I remember the ads with the BBC van driving around, telling you that they can detect if you have a tv in your house. They still maintain that it exists, surprisingly.

You might be happier if you avoid partisan new at either far end of the spectrum.
Too many will tell you that the world is ending, democracy is dead, etc, etc.
It's not healthy to hear hysterical anguish presented as news.
We've survived such dire predictions before.
We'll survive Trump.
I guarantee it.

If Brits have to pay a licence fee to watch television, do adverts still take a large percentage of air time?

You think CNN is hysterical ? What is a better source?

Brits have to pay a licence fee if they have a tv set capable of recieving bbc. I.e. any tv set. There is no advertising on the bbc

All other stations are commercial and rely on advertising for revenue. You dont need a license to watch them although this is moot because of the 1st paragraph.

How far are you from Paris and what's up with all the rioting there? Who's doing it?
Yes I read the news. I'm asking your opinion.

We are over 550km from paris

Not seen any rioting at all, not seen any gilets jaunes for months. When the protest first started you could meet them and chat with them at just about every road junction. Many of the demands were met or at least addressed and most protesters disappeared back to family life.

The thing with gilets jaunes is they were not a cohesive group with set demands, it was originally a facebook protest that grew as different groups (with different demands) joined.

Whos doing it? I dont know but i do know there are relatively few now. They disrupt major cities to attract media attention but i dont think they have much support any more since they defaced the arc de triomphe.

When you do read the news you will notice things like "about a dozen rioters", so it seems to me its a very small hardcore of militants who get off on the media attention.
