What Would Jesus Do (about the current problems)?

Samantha Rinne

Suppose next election, instead of your regular career politicians, Jesus runs for office. And despite all political machines, somehow he gets elected. This happens for all countries at the same time, with Jesus being different leaders, but proposing the best solution for each.

The current mess still persists, massive unemployment due to lockdowns, displacement from social events, and fear of disease. In short, if Jesus really did rule the world (Mwahahaha!!!) how would this thing get fixed? As an added side note, we get to hear political ideas, so maybe this is in the wrong section?

Also, as a bonus question, what would the Antichrist do. For people other than Christians, this is your own personal prophesized leader (like Miroku for Buddhists) and how they would ideally fix such problems. And how exactly the wrong person would "fix" them.

Jesus: "The Kingdom of God is at hand, prepare yourselves."

At least I think that slogan would get a lot of traction in the current situation.

I think things were pretty much a mess for the folks around him as well. So it'd be concern yourself less with this world and make sure you are prepared for the next.

That is a very earthly thinking.
Jesus won't run for office since he already have "an office"

From the Bible:

Colossians 3:1 New International Version (NIV)

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

That is why, as a Christian - I am not troubled by the massive unemployment, the quarantine lockdowns, displacement from social events or even diseases. Why? Because we are ordered to set our hearts on things above.

Why would Jesus Christ want to be president, prime minister or be some head of state? He is already seated at the right hand of God - and that is the highest position ever.

The pestilence like COVID 19 are things expected to happen because it is written in the Bible a long time ago before things like this happen - the Black Death in Europe, the 1918 Spanish Flu, SARS, MERS Cov, and many others are one of the signs that he is indeed return to save those who believe and condemn those who do not.

Again from the Bible:

Matthew 24:1-8 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Hence, these things have to happen so I will take things calmly at face value when things hit....

The Antichrists have been existing even before the apostles of Jesus Christ died.
And that is not an opinion but it is written in the Bible.
This is what apostle John wrote:

1 John 2:18 New International Version (NIV)

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour.

So the antichrists have been operating against and subverting the teachings of Christ for a long time. They have introduced doctrines that does not conform with the Bible, mock the lordship of Jesus Christ and a lot of people unwittingly say things that they unaware that they are actually the antichrists.

Are they few? The Bible says they are many, even during the first century church.

I don't pretend to be an expert or anything, but isn't Jesus supposed to have magical powers? If he can cure lepers and bring people from the dead, couldn't just cure everyone and resurrect the dead and move on...

Yep, Jesus can perform miracles.
But Jesus also said:

Luke 21:7-11 New International Version (NIV)

“Teacher,” they asked, “when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that they are about to take place?”

He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them. When you hear of wars and uprisings, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”

Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

But what if it's time for the world to undergo the pain of birth to bring about something new and much much better?

People always assume other parts of the world must change to be more like their bubble while that bubble has few negative points. It is a lack of evaluating their own views.

Why would Jesus even care for human politics? Jesus would only do what his "mission" told him to do, to give salvation to those who listen and understood his words, and for those who actually cultivated the teaching he would bring.
No religious teacher/master would have an interest in how we humans try to govern our fellow human beings. All he would care about is the spiritual life and how to teach the truth.
Maybe he would heal one or two people so the human race could see that if we cultivated the teaching of Jesus we could become like him, and be able to heal others too out of compassion to other sick people.
I am not Christian so my words here may not count at all

I would think that if Jesus were really an all-powerful being as I assume you think he is, then there'd be two options: 1. he wouldn't allow the world to get caught up in such a reality. 2. he did it on purpose, and would therefore kick back and watch the world try to deal with things on its own.

For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.

Why was the teaching of Jesus known?

It says by the above quote, meaning that the wrong form of spirit was released from out of the grave/stone of God O Earth as Jesus.

For the story tells you, that in natuarl life there was the spiritual innocent self who never knew his Father would sacrifice his life...as the Father of science.

And in the theme it is stated that the wrong Jesus was released as a prisoner.

Meaning what got released out of the stone sacrifice was the males who hated his own Father, his Mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life. You could not be the disciple if you did not own the theme of personal life hatred.

Why the God texts tell you that God in original human life support owned innocent children who sought information from the Tree of Life, sin, or sine frequencies...built the science machines that owned and used transmitted signals between Temple to Temple and Temple to pyramid....and then in a hateful statement said I will have you all destroyed.

What the discussion involves as a medical review.

The story says that medical science became aware of self destructive science male mentality in false preaching claiming I am personally the power of God. When the biblical review said, and was taught, no man or male is God.

Yet even today those seeking the personal power of God try to claim that humans have in their body the ownership Holy Grail...and even profess to be researching for the power of the beginning of everything...and then claim and Jesus will give me the answers.

When the 12 discs or disciplines relating to natural light 12, had it sacrificed and removed the human ownership of supported life in natural light...illuminated it, and the Christ Revelations 22 stated, that it was DATA referenced to exactly what they caused.

The unnatural sacrifice of natural life by illuminating and increasing gases burning so that they fell out, attacked God ground stone fusion...released a radiation attack and life was sacrificed because of it.

So when you read the literature you have to see the secretive statements that can easily be overlooked when you are of innocent mind.

If Jesus did not be life attacked and sacrificed then there would be no 12 disciples either. Therefore Leadership is fake.

Spiritually I was told to never walk behind anyone else, for you would be walking in their shadow.

Therefore factually you would have to ask self which Jesus told you not to build the Church to assist the cellular and mind healing of humanity by PHI conditions of sound?

Jesus would say that the Elders, equal humans would be the right spiritual balances for regaining a needed implemented family unity. For our parents own our natural life existing, not God or Jesus.

This attitude among christians is so painfully common, at least here in america. I think this might be one the main ways in which the country is divided - it is between thinking that reality matters vs. thinking that only a metaphysical reality matters. I mostly like like to keep my feet in the former camp while respecting the spiritual domain, though 'reality' is mostly advocated by plainer secularists at this point. I say that reality matters more than would christians, and that we should respect the physical environment as occupied by the spirit. We are supposed to make the human form shine, and ride on the throne of a healthy and balanced world. I do not welcome disease or any kind of pain, they are unwelcome traps in the story of this species

So the antichrists have been operating against and subverting the teachings of Christ for a long time. They have introduced doctrines that does not conform with the Bible, mock the lordship of Jesus Christ and a lot of people unwittingly say things that they unaware that they are actually the antichrists.

Tell me then, how long would it take for you to become skeptical? What if he doesn't come in another 2000 years? Or do you think that it can't possibly take that long

probably similar to what that "personage" did throughout the entirety of history since he "left".
which is debatable as there is no evidence of any acts done by that individual in question
last I heard he made breakfast for his close family said he had done it for them [by way of example...now go look after your own mess] and he left for his kingdom that is not of this world, for if it was his followers of the time would have prevented his death.....

Jesus is however described as coming to reign. Though, I will agree, it's probably not official government since the elections are often fixed (especially in corrupt places).

What is the reason for the 1000-year reign of Christ?

Truth be told, would don't know what this rulership does look like. But we know what it doesn't look like.

The Parable of the Wicked Tenants
33 “Hear another parable. There was a householder who planted a vineyard, and set a hedge around it, and dug a wine press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to tenants, and went into another country. 34 When the season of fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants, to get his fruit; 35 and the tenants took his servants and beat one, killed another, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the first; and they did the same to them. 37 Afterward he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and have his inheritance.’ 39 And they took him and cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. 40 When therefore the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” 41 They said to him, “He will put those wretches to a miserable death, and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”

The rulers of this world are like these wicked tenants. They want the power of the world for themselves. They want to inherit it, thinking if they kill the Christ they will be able to take over.

I distrust Muslims (mainly the jihad mentality of some of its fanatics), Bahai (I dunno, it seems too devoted to centralized world government), and some of the fundamentalist/liberal Christians to a lesser extent , but I distrust NGOs like the UN to a great extent. Such organizations, in the name of peacekeeping or public safety, have done a great number of crimes against humanity.

Online Debate: Resolved: The United Nations should be abolished | Debate.org

At best, such organizations were hijacked by later leaders. At worst they were founded by groups that secretly dreamed of power to start with. They are wicked tenants, and their rule will last if (and only if) they keep in mind the will of the governed. I have no doubt that Jesus will unseat them, I'm just not sure what it actually looks like.

I mean, does Jesus appear in the sky like many apocalyptic movies show? Is he some penniless guru type? Or something else?

Jesus has magical powers

Jesus does have powers. But a more important power is the power to affect reality. Think of how in the age of Jesus we had science (Archimedes and Aristotle and such), but for the most part many people believed in a sort of superstitious reality. Hell, Ireland and much of Europe and West Asia believed in things like domovoi, fey, or outright demons. You can see in Russian legend, how the church kinda banished these spirits not only from affecting the living but actually from regular people even believing in them. I think the risk is to see Jesus as a performer of magic tricks. Sometimes to change reality, something much more mundane happens (as an object lesson, it's now my third time watching the Christian movie Perfect Stranger not to be confused with a similarly named horror film, and the woman talking with him asks him to turn the win back into water, so he tells the water to bring water instead), like working with doctors and scientists to provide a cure.

I am not anti-science, and I don't think Christians ought to be. But I do think they ought to draw the line at trying to tamper with life to make immortality (such a thing is a blessing not a science project, and there's probably a reason we die), and they ought to draw the line at using aborted fetuses as scrap material for medicine (that seems to much of a temptation to make something like The Island where clones are harvested for parts). And at the idea of forcing people to take medicine (we do have immune systems, and some medicines have too many side effects for some people, while people may want others to do ).

Jesus would just be passive and believe, and everything would work out without even trying.

I think there are two great temptations about Jesus. One is to see him as almost like a dragon (Daenerys Targaryen being a sort of go-to example, a powerful charismatic type with almost a ruthless side), and the other one is to see him as a sort of cuddly lamb. The Taoists did see something for effortless action, but I would shy away from an absolute passive Jesus. Jesus was mellow but also able to speak against Pharisees when they were doing things poorly.

What would Jesus do?
Jesus would probably parade around on a donkey and expect people to listen to him.

I would think that if Jesus were really an all-powerful being as I assume you think he is, then there'd be two options: 1. he wouldn't allow the world to get caught up in such a reality. 2. he did it on purpose, and would therefore kick back and watch the world try to deal with things on its own.

Wow, that's kinda cynical.

So you think it's Jesus's job to insulate us from bad things? (Suddenly realizing why there's a quarantine, everyone's willing to be "protected") This is not consistent with life, it's not consistent with the choice Adam and Eve are said to have made. And it's not how Jesus is depicted. Jesus is shown healing the sick, not preventing them from getting sick. In fact, disturbingly, Jesus waits until after his friend dies so he can raise him! Yeah, that would be sketchy to me, but it shows how his mission is not to prevent misfortune but to cure it.

*Raises hand* saying as a non-Christian I don't think Jesus has any job anymore in this world whatsoever.
So yes... It's cynical, I suppose.
Yeah, that would be sketchy to me, but it shows how his mission is not to prevent misfortune but to cure it.
Sounds evil.
Scene: Jesus stands in the shadows of the world, humming some tune of a Christian hymn in his praise, waiting as various disasters strike the world. Then Jesus dons his shining armor, mounts his trusted donkey steed and rushes to save the world as the gallant knight, burying in the past the fact that he could've stopped the disaster before it ever happened.

Jesus Christ will return surely, as to when is another matter.
But this is what he said:

Matthew 24:33 New International Version (NIV)
Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.

What are the things we should see further?
All the signs were shown and are still being shown.

Now, will it take another 2,000 years?
I doubt it. This world does not have 2,000 years -
climate change will worsen in the next 50 years possibly resulting in multiple crop failures and famine.

These by themselves are also signs mentioned by the Lord Jesus Christ in

Luke 21:11 New International Version (NIV)
There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

I am surprised at some "pastors" saying that Christ will reign for just a thousand years.

What I know is Jesus Christ will return to earth but will not make a touch down.
He will wait midair for the people he will save [those who died and those who are alive]
Not my opinion but that is what on the Bible.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 New International Version (NIV)

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

upload_2020-4-1_22-58-30.jpeg

These people will be with Christ in the Holy City for a thousand years.
Satan will be bound in the Abyss for a thousand years and these are recorded in Revelation 20:4-8
While the Earth and those will be left behind will witness and feel the things mentioned in Revelation 16

I mean, does Jesus appear in the sky like many apocalyptic movies show? Is he some penniless guru type? Or something else?

He is something else.
He is the reason why the universe was created by God.
He is the heir of all things. Romans 4:13

Colossians 1:16
For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.

God never created the universe because of his own whims. No.
God created the universe with Jesus Christ in mind from the very beginning.
God created the universe for Jesus Christ not for the angels, not for the heck of it but for the man, Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ practically and literally own the universe.
Because God made that for him.
And that is in the Bible:

Hebrews 1:2 New International Version (NIV)
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
