What would you do if a neighbor choked your 7 year old child?

You think this cop would treat white people in this same fashion?
Cops do treat white folk as badly as that.
I know many who've been subject to worse....one of whom later became a cop.
But that isn't news, so you're falling prey to the "spotlight fallacy".
Cops can be (& are) dangerous to anyone.

Note that this is not to impugn all cops.
Tis only that a percentage of them are malefactors,
& one can't always know which kind one will meet.
This must really grind the gears of the good'ns.

Why? I can watch a video and see what a public government employee is doing to certain citizens that pay their wages. You sound like the bigot, sitting here defending this bigots actions. You think this cop would treat white people in this same fashion? The problem with certain cops is that they can't leave their racism at home. Especially in Texas.

I'm glad I don't live in Texas.

Matter of fact I did get a couple cops fired when I was on the job.
Most departments have recruits take a serious psych exam.
A big step in a good direction.

I was a copper for 22.5 years.
A short list of my injuries:
Back broken 4 times. 3 concussions. Both hands broken. Both knees
blown out. One replaced. Severe p.t.s.d. & depression.
And more.
Been sued at jury 4 times.
( I won them all.)
Police work is so much fun.
Try it. You'll like it.
I was 100% disabled from police work so I went to college, earned 2
degrees and retired again from G.M.
I spent 9 months in rehab getting use of my legs back.
Police work can be a lot of fun, can be helpful to so many, can
be super dangerous.

I would make every effort to override my immediate reaction to beat the crap out of the person, remove my child from the situation. Without any supporting evidence, I wouldn't see the purpose of calling the cops, and I wouldn't want a useless official record of the incident. I would give it some time, plan an untraceable and unsupportable response that was thoroughly thought out, and make that person wish they were never born, with no risk to myself and no reliance on the vagaries of law.

There has been a Swatification of the police for many years now. They look and often act more like military combatants than public servants. Here's a recent pic...
That's why I keep telling people if there is a domestic war here, it won't be us versus the military, it will be us versus the police.

Do you really believe that cops don't thump white guys?
What a world you must live in.
I am a white guy and have a long history of being thumped.
Got put in jail when i was 16yrs old for one joint.
I was there for two weeks waiting for court.
No bail money.

I have a million stories about myself and others.
When it comes to "thumping", there is no discrimination.

But without a video of it, they won't believe you.

Got a video example? Just saying it doesn't count.
Bakersfield officials said officers opened fire at Francisco Serna seconds after he was pointed out to them.
...
The retired father-of-five was shot to death in his neighbour's driveway at around 00:45 local time on Monday.
Shocking new video shows unarmed Utah man was listening to headphones when killed by police
On August 11, 2014, Dillon Taylor walked out of a local Salt Lake City, Utah, convenience store minding his own business. He wasn't armed. He wasn't committing a crime. He was listening to music on his headphones,
Like it or not, police are abusive to everyone. Ever hear about the white women being stripped and searched roadside? Or that police kill overall more white people than black (though the overall death rate itself is disproportionately skewed against blacks)? This racial divide does nothing but divide us against the police, when what we need--and they do not want--is for us to unite as One People against the police.

As I said, apples and oranges. This was a mother who called the cops because her neighbor physically assaulted her son. Cop shows up, arrests mother and daughters...

Your examples were typical cops saying 'he had a gun...' scenarios. Not the case with what I'm talking about. It is common knowledge that black people are treated differently given identical situations. Black people are statistically pulled over more and cars searched more. To deny that certain cops have racist tendencies is ridiculous. But I'll give you an example of another case where a white guy wouldn't be shot.

I'm not denying any of that. What I'm denying is that the police only abuse black people. They abuse everyone. Yes, blacks get it worse, but that doesn't mean we should ignore the abuses suffered by everyone else. Even here is "small town America," police once tased an elderly man with advanced Alzheimer's who was a patient at a nursing home, while at the nursing home because he wouldn't get on an ambulance. The man was white. In the same city, and more recently, a white cop threatened to kill the white mayor, and some others, over a day off he didn't get. If every story hit main stream news, it's the only news we'd hear. That black people get treated worse is not the illness, but a symptom of a much deeper corruption. We need to realize that, and only solutions that acknowledge and work to fix that will improve things, because the corruption is so deep that not even body cameras are fixing the symptom.

It comes off that way when "major news" and just about every discussion revolves around the abuses suffered by black people. It's rare for whites and Mexicans to be the focus. The police have become very militarized, very abusive, very corrupt, and they'll target just about anyone. Really, it is very much an issue that we all have to acknowledge we share, and we all have to stand up against it. But few will stand against authority, let alone tell a cop no.

You might notice in the media that when a white cop kills a black person, or a white man
abuses a Muslim woman, the race/religion is always prominently mentioned. But when
an article doesn't mention race at all, then you can be 99% sure the victim is white.

White people are like rain drops in a storm.
There are so many & so ubiquitous that they individually just don't attract any notice.

There's something wrong with pointing out the abuses suffered by black people to this day? Do you want them to point out the abuses suffered by white people to even things out?

Ah, the talking point. That doesn't count for proof of anything. It's a conspiracy theory.

I didn't offer proof....which would be rejected out of hand anyway.
And I don't claim a conspiracy.
My explanation is that this is just how liberals tend to view the world,
ie, blacks are victims, & whites are perpetrators, & that this is what's
wrong with society.
