who's deam martin?
I forget how young some of our members are - my fault HelpMe.
Dean Martin was one member of the "Rat Pack" (along with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr., Joey Bishop, and Peter Lawford) that ruled Las Vegas in the 60's. He was a singer of Italian descent, with a very smooth voice, dashing good looks (according to the ladies), and one heckuva drinking problem. He hosted his own variety show in the early 70's, and had a ton of very big albums. He also starred in a series of movies as "Matt Helm" - a James Bond knockoff.

He is probably best known for his hit songs, such as "That's Amore", "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime", and "Second Hand Rose", among others.

Though I K(NOW) it was not intentional let us not forget the memorable collaboration of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin of stage and film and THE COLGATE COMEDY HOUR.

My daughter has a poster of the original Rat Pack in her apartment... we had a rather lengthy discussion about the falling out between those two comedic geniuses as it related to the falling out of her childhood best friend. I still don't understand it.

The ASL sign for "I love you" and that's it.
This is the only sign that my whole family knows - we use it with the kids so that during a ballgame, we can say "I love you" without embarrasing the snot out of them.

For those of you that don't know the sign -
http://www.masterstech-home.com/The_Library/ASL_Dictionary_Project/ASL_Tables/Communicator/I/I_Love_You.html

If you can't get the link, it has the thumb and the first finger making the letter "L" and the little finger raised as well.

Thanks,

TVOR, my kids and I use the sign all the time too. One of my sisters is majoring in teaching ASL to children and has been practicing on my kids lol. It's something that has become very special to us and we use many times throughout the day.

We use a modified ASL underwater as well. Beats trying to read lips. Have YOU ever tried to read a fish's lips?
