Whats disturbing your mind?

Friends,

Am sure we all agree that enlightenment happens when our minds are stilled and to still our minds we should make that space termed mind thought free but since mind is an integral part of human beings we are all trying to quieten it except for some thoughts that keeps repeating itself and keeps the mind occupied the maximum to give it that free space to be at PEACE with ourself.

Kindly share that thought/s with everyone as not only it helps us lighten the burden by engaging others to share the burden but also in response we most times find something which helps us from getting over that thought for good and regain our place in the garden of Eden. :beach:

Good day friend,

Observe thoughts come and go like changing weather. Don't segregate them from paradise.

Friend seeking4truth,

The injustice that stops children growing in safety with a chance to develop all the wonderful talents they are born with.

The problem starts with our own perception of things in duality.
The enlightened masters have understood that our sufferings are due to our own causes [karma] and we are reborn till we can clear our balance sheet to be free from the cycle of rebirth.
Which then leads us to watching our own mind and their thoughts as sufferings starts with desiring which arises in our minds and ones all desires are stopped we are free.

Nothing to be sorry about as what you said in the first instant is true.
The Mind is the crap factory and is self disturbing and all one needs to do is stop the production of crap and the person is crap free.

Try and imagine that your mind is a stand-up comedian, and if he's not funny, boo him off the stage.

This works just as well if your mind is a she.

If you are swept along by the hurricane force winds of thought, slow down, by breathing deeply a few times, for a few minutes. This will calm the body as well as the mind because you are focusing on your breathing and not your thoughts. Thoughts are your creation, don't let the tail wag the dog.

As a diagnosed schizophrenic, I am inclined to agree. Thankfully, for the past couple of months, the majority of the hallucinations I am forced to experience are actually comforting.

There was a time when it was nothing but disturbing content and there were sensations of pain in my brain to accompany the images. I literally had to pound my head with my own fists to regain control of my consciousness.

Personal understanding is that every human is so; simply because we all have minds and minds by their very nature is nothing but a space where 'thinking' goes on non-stop without even asking.
The best way to get out of this is 'meditation' by trying to ma\ke that space [mind] free of any thoughts.

Be careful zenzero. Assuming that your philosophy gives you understanding of the human brain and its pathologies is a bit of a leap. And assuming that ordinary discursive thought is the same as schizophrenia is very ill-informed.

I am not an expert on such matters, but I have heard it said by therapists that for some people with scizophrenia the kind of meditation advice you are giving is not a good idea at all, and can cause a worsening of the situation. It is perhaps not so simple and clear-cut as you choose to believe.

We can no more expect to diminish all thoughts than we can remove clouds from the sky. Allow the thoughts and let them be, it is part of our nature. Don't try to force them away, they will float away when they are ready to. Just as the Sun still shines on an overcast day even though we may not see it through the clouds, that "enlightenment" is always there whether those thoughts are present or not. We are never not enlightened, we just don't always realize it because we "think" too much which at times leads us into doubt.
