What's for dinner?

We had a BBQ. Our friend Ralph came over and instead of ordering out, we decided to eat in. I got the grill ready and grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs. We also had cheddar sausages and potato salad. For dessert, they had chocolate cake. mmmmmmmm.

Are you familiar with the Bacon Game? It's like, how many steps from tomato to bacon... tomato, ketchup, mayonaise, hash browns, BACON!...

Mayonnaise to hashbrowns? I hope that doesn't mean....Blech!

I don't know how you do it where you come from, but over here we could have done it in fewer steps:

tomato, ketchup, hashbrowns, BACON!

I was planning to make Pad Thai tonight, but I got involved in the book I was reading last night and forgot to make the tamarind paste. So we'll probably have leftover meatloaf and salad, unless John feels like cooking brats on the grill.

Tonight I'm making a Guinness and steak pie with a big chopped salad on the side. The great thing about Guinness pie is that it only takes 1 Guinness to make which leaves five for me! LOL!

Tonight I am making pork chops with apples. I browned the chops then removed them. Poured about a cup of white wine in the skillet to deglaze the skillet then added three chopped up apples and one onion chopped with rosemary. Then I put the chops right on top of it all and baked it in the over at 350 for about 45 minutes. Should be yummy.
