Well, it depends, we don't want to scare anyone away, so we usually save the shredded carrots until after baptism.

Just so's you know, the Calvinists where I'm from picked up that green jello habit from y'all.

We were all baptized as infants though, so that might explain why we just always had the shredded carrots in the jello.

I've had carrott slices, mandarin orange, bananas, marshmallows, apples, pineapple, and any other fruit you can think of....

I was just asked to make a jello salad for a funeral the other day. It had pears, cream cheese, coolwhip and finally green jello. I can't believe that jello salad is actually a staple in a mormon meal.

I've heard of the pears, but never the cream cheese! I normally love cream cheese, though... *ponders what it must taste like*

Not bad. You actually blend the pears and cream cheese together and make the jello jiggler recipe with the pear juice. You only let the jello set for about 10 min in the fridge and then mix it all together and then fold in the cool whip. Let it set up in the fridge for a couple of hours or until firm and viola! Please do not add shredded carrots to this. That would be gross!;)

One of my favorite meals is what we call "navajo tacos"

It has frybread, then we put pinto beans on top with shredded cheese, sour cream and whatever sauces one likes. Others include lettuce, onions and all that but I just like up to the sauce.

For dessert we have frybread with honey and butter on it. mmmmmm.

thanks for making me hungry!

The worst part isn't that it is a staple, but that it is a side dish - not a desert. I don't know how many times I have had my jello melt on my ham...

Is that like here in the South, where "macaroni and cheese" is listed as a "vegetable"?

Although it sure beats where I'm from. Anyone here realize that there's a "season" for chili? :sarcastic

We're secretly fundies. We trick everyone into thinking we're inclusive and then we feed you our special brainwash-brew coffee. Then we turn on the TV, put in "An Inconvient Truth," and laugh at how silly Al Gore is.
