Great quotes!

Here's another Einstein one:
"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."

Ralph Waldo Emerson:
"A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer."

Comedian Dobie Maxwell (Mr. Lucky):
"Just once my fantasy is to drive a car that was built in the same decade I'm living in."

Keep 'em coming!

"Who honors those we love for the very life we live? Who sends monsters to kill us, and at the same time sings that will never die? Who teaches us whats real, and how to laugh at lies? Who decides why we live, and what we'll die to defend? Who trains us, and who holds the key to set us free? It's you. You have all the weapons you need. Now fight!" -ending monologue of Sucker Punch

There are many, but this is undoubtedly my favorite:
The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the
privilege of owning yourself.

I really like this one.

It's my new favourite.

My old favourite was from Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade.

Young Indy was just caught for stealing an artifact, one of the bad guys says to him "You lost this time, kid, But it doesn't mean you have to like it"

Here is one I like to tell my pupils:
"I'm not saying it's going to be easy.
I'm saying it's going to be worth it."

And also (although not used much in the classroom) ;) :

You must whip it."

Memorable scene :D

it was the leader of the robbers. in the last crusade he is an early inspiration for the young Indy.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
"Go - and never darken my towels again." Groucho Marx

"It's not that I ain't never been **** on - but I ain't never been **** on, what I didn't KNOW I was **** on." My great uncle

"Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Cort Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally." Napoleon Dynamite

Also - my signature line - for when I'm in a more reverent or serious mood.

Wonderful quotes--
Here's more:

Alayna Rose (artist): A great teacher doesn't tell you what you should be, but rather what you can be.

Jim Fiebig: Age does not diminish the extreme disappointment of having a scoop of ice cream fall from the cone.

Eno Yaw: Who the heck is Jim Fiebig?

More, more, more ...!

“Oh soul,
you worry too much.
You have seen your own strength.
You have seen your own beauty.
You have seen your golden wings.
Of anything less,
why do you worry?
You are in truth
the soul, of the soul, of the soul.”
~ Rumi ~
