It's lots worse than it used to be; that's for sure. It's also worse than it is on any of the other forums I post on.

You're supposed to pay for the site, or you deserve TORTURE. :D

Er, if they get obnoxious use the adblock, yo.

I only use adblock because I'd been hacked before via flash ads from nefarious sources, they're not really "safe" to put on your site.

Option b: pay for sub.

Maybe just pay for services rendered?

That's a sneaky way of paying for this site. We shouldn't feel forced or coerced into a site that doesn't provide "services" but a backdrop to conversation about like or different topics.

I go to this other site. It's not a forum but it's a platform that helps people be more disciplined. So you set up your goal and each week you have to report back to the site journal. You can make yourself more motivated by saying they can take X money out of your account if you don't make your journal entry in time. However, the site is free sense it doesn't "give" anything.

What I wouldn't care for with that particular site is if we had to pay to make our own goals. That's like going to an ATM machine and the ATM charges you to take out your own money. I never liked that.

But I'm pulling away from this site anyway. I can only use it on lap and desk tops. On my phone and tablet the ads take up way too much space to where I can't even type.

I thought that it was a tradition that during the Super Bowl companies really made an effort and brought out special advertisements.

I have to admit that I found RFs efforts in this regard to be sorely lacking. It was as if they never made any extra effort at all...

Busy sites like this do require money to operate, lol. And whoever owns the site probably would like to turn a profit, otherwise why bother?

I have never bought anything on the internet and RF isn't important enough to start. I see adblocker as stealing, sort of. Close enough that I won't do it.
But RF doesn't even work any more. I assume it's because my browser is incompatible with their software. The most pernicious pop up keeps telling me that my browser is outdated.

I like RF but I am finding it increasingly frustrating and not worth the trouble. I just don't care about Trump or sovietchild or homophobes that much.

In other words people don't understand why ads are there. Like those mythical commercials that exist solely to annoy us.

I don't listen to commercial radio much because of the ads between songs.
If they started playing the ads during songs even my partner would stop. If they added messages telling me I need to change my radio I wouldn't bother at all.

It's so bad on my Android that I can barely navigate through the site . . . hardly worth my time really.
