I'm O- and used to get calls all the time.
I learned to say I just got a tattoo and that usually gives a 3-6 months waiting period.
After about 3-4 times of saying that the calls came to an end.

OH I don't mind giving platelets even though it can be time consuming. My dad had an autoimmune disorder of his platelets so I give them in his memory.

Yep. We can give to every one but only can get O-

It's not that pleasant to be 0- because the blood donors unit asks for your contribution.
It's better to have a rare blood type.

O- isn't the rarest but I think only like 7% have it.
But everyone seeks it because its the only universal blood.
