And our accents do differ depending on the states.
I think you're right, although I do think that differences are there. I can usually pick someone from Brisbane for example.I actually find it really hard to hear the differences. Sometimes I can pick a Victorian, especially if they live in the country. And depending on the way they pronounce words like 'dance' I can occasionally pick someone from SA. But generally speaking I think we all sound really similar.
I like English accents. I wish I had one.
I could hardly resist my fiancee's French accent when we got to know each other. we talked about archaeology half the time, but I was indulging myself in her French accent.I love hearing foreign accents. I love the accents of the Indians, French, Israeli, Arabic, Aussie, Japanese... I probably like hearing and imitating them all.
Do you have a favorite? I will admit, some of them actually sound funny to me, which make me like them even more( and imitate them more) I would love to hear some from say India do an American Accent. I had a french guy do it once and it was hilarious!
